In February 2019, the Railways invited applications from candidates across India towards the railways most sought after category NTPC. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) had invited the application for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) for 35,902 vacancies are reported across different Railway Recruitment Board (RRB)s. The Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) positions include Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in various Railway Boards. Earlier this month various RRB’s has published the RRB NTPC application status of the applicants, along with the list of rejected applicants.

RRB NTPC Application Status
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the 2019 NTPC (CEN 01/2019 ) application status on September 16, 2020. The application status can be viewed in corresponding RRB websites. The RRB NTPC preliminary exam is scheduled to start from 15th December 2020 onwards. Meanwhile, RRB rejected hundreds of applications citing various reasons.
RRB NTPC 2019 Vacancy
The official notification of RRB NTPC came out with 44,531 vacancies, but the numbers eventually go down to 35,902 by May 2019. The number of vacancies may further change.

RRB NTPC 2019 Application Status: Reasons for Rejections
Railway Recruitment Boards across India is all set to conduct the RRB NTPC 2019 for more than 1.2 crores of candidates for 35000 vacant positions. Let’s have a quick look at the various reasons for the NTPC application rejection:
- Invalid photos
RRB has rejected a couple of photos for not following the provided guidelines. Invalid photos include black and white photos, photos with a cap, or wearing goggles. Photos with small size, unrecognisable photos (blurred images), group photos, selfie photo, photo taken by mobile, morphed photo, etc.
- Signature
If the signature of candidates uploaded in RRB NTPC application form is in capital letters or if the image is blurred then RRB rejected such applications.
- Educational Qualification
RRB does not entertain the applicants of candidates who do not possess the essential educational qualifications.
- Date of Birth
If the candidate’s age is not between 18- 33 years then RRB would not accept such applicants.
- Multiple applications
RRRs had asked the candidates not to submit multiple applications through different RRB’s. If any candidate had submitted multiple applications to different RRBs or same RRB, then all applications will be rejected and such candidates will be debarred from appearing in RRC/ RRC exams in the future.
- Debarred candidates
The application forms of candidates whose names appear in the debarred list of any of the RRB/ RRC list will be rejected from the RRB NTPC list.
- Incomplete application
The application forms with incomplete or incorrect details also get rejected by the examination authority.
