The Lebanon War has its initial issue from 1981 after the lobbing of Katyusha Rockets at Israeli settlements by the Southern Lebanon terror organizations. In July 1981, a ceasefire declared was being broken. And the continuous violence by the terrorists against Israeli targets and northern settlements caused a massive disturbance and became unbearable to a great extent. Later on, on 3 June 1982, the terrorists shot Slomo Argov, Israel’s Ambassador to Britain. After three days, on 6 June 1982, the IDF operation for Peace for the Galilee was put forward.

Phases of the War

The initial war was the conventional war pattern which extended from June 6, 1982, to August 23, 1982, as the terrorists were excluded from Beirut. The second phase is the which that made a drastic impact and lasted for three years with its terrific fear upon the state. The initial phase saw the IDF advanced through the shore and crossed the river to move to the target area Beirut. Later, they moved to the Shouf Mountains in the Beka’a Valley.
The destruction of the Syrian SAM array in the Lebanese Beka’a Valley is considered as one of the greatest destruction in the initial war sequence, which was done within hours. The destruction was done with the help of a huge air battle, 25 Syrian Planes were shot down, making a large impact upon the Syrian air defence. Later, after the massive destruction and violence, a peace treaty was signed but not ratified. The exiting Christian government of Lebanon which was fragmented and unstable was too weak for such an initiation.
The Israeli forces and military had to witness massive violence resulting in 1,216 soldier’s death during the period of 1982, June 5 to 1985 31 May. The Prime Minister of the time, Menahem Begin brought a phrase of justification for this as “A War of Choice.” The collapse of Operation Peace of Galilee prevailed the new national alliance government, which took a position in 1984, to eliminate from Lebanon. A token force was given back, to help the inhabitants of south Lebanon to watch the Security Zone.
Innocent Children as the Victims
As a result of these wars and conflicts, innocent children were suffering and being victims of abuse and violence. The rate of 250 million children affected by the vulnerable acts and violence was taken into account.
