Candidates who are appearing for the Combined Defence Service examination must have a certain cut-off which is set by the recruitment commission so as to get into the various service academies. Here are the complete details regarding the cut-off score that is been fixed by the commission.
The commission sets the cut-off mark for the examination by taking various factors into consideration. Here are some of the factors that the Union Public Service Commission considers for determining the cut-off for UPSC CDS 2021.

- Total number of appeared candidates
- The Difficulty level of the exam
CDS Cut-off 2021 (Written Exam)
The cut-off for the written exam is the minimum aggregate marks of the last qualified candidates who wrote the examination previously. The written exam for IMA, INA, and AFA has various sections such as English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics sections. The test paper for admission to OTA comprises two sections, English and General Knowledge. Total marks of the test for IMA, INA, and AFA are 300 while it is 200 for OTA. Candidates are also required to secure the minimum qualifying marks in each subject, which is 20%. Union Public Service Commission publishes a list of candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam through their official website for public knowledge. Candidates who are declared successful in the written exam are called for an intelligence and personality test by the commission later.
CDS Cut-Off 2021 (SSB Interview)
Staff Selection Board Interview is conducted for the qualified candidates of the written exam by the Union Public Service Commission. The SSB Interview follows the two-stage selection process.
Stage 1:- Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT) Stage 2:- Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference
To qualify for SSB Interview, candidates who are appearing for the interview need to secure the minimum qualifying marks.
The final rank list will be published on the basis of the written round marks and the interview round marks. So the candidates who wish to get a good rank must score well in both rounds.
