A regulatory body is a government agency or an organization that is to exercise a regulatory function. The regulatory body is to protect the public, by providing and enforcing adequate standards for health and safety in a society. A regulatory body is created on the basis of a legal mandate or legislation. In India, there are different regulating bodies to regulate each and every arm of the government service.
