Bihar Administrative Services: BPSC Job Profile of SDM
Promotion is granted to Officers recruited by BPSC through the Departmental Promotion Committee, which is headed by the Chairman of the Commission, in accordance with the rules framed by the State Government. The BPSC will consider the Officers for the first promotion after 8–9 years of service and the Officers usually retire after one or at the most two promotions. Though the promotion is slower in comparison to the ones that the UPSC entrants get, yet the BPSC promotes its Officers.

Candidates’ age should be between 21 to 37 years for the Unreserved category (Male), 40 years for EBC (Female & Male), 42 years for SC/ ST (Male & Female) candidates as of notification date.
