Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a full-time degree in Electrical Engineering or its related specializations as mentioned on the degree certificate, including:

Points to Remember
- Candidates must have a qualifying BE/B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering or its related specializations as mentioned in the notification. Those with degrees in other disciplines are not eligible. The Corporation reserves the right to make the final decision regarding eligibility in case of any variation.
- Candidates with combined, integrated, or inter-disciplinary degrees like Mechatronics, Robotics, etc., are not eligible.
- Applicants should be able to produce their final degree/marksheet by 31st October 2025 and meet the minimum percentage of marks as prescribed. Shortlisted candidates will only be allowed to join if their aggregate marks meet the required criteria.
- If the final marks are awarded as CGPA/GPA/letter grades, candidates must provide a conversion certificate from their institute during document verification. Fractions of percentages will not be rounded up (e.g., 59.99% is treated as less than 60%). If the institute does not follow a conversion formula, a certificate stating the same must be submitted; IOCL may calculate the equivalent percentage using a multiplication factor.
- Candidates who have pursued or completed ME/M.Tech as part of an integrated or dual degree program are eligible only if their BE/B.Tech degree is in the specified disciplines.

- Category-wise Reservation: Vacancies are reserved for OBC (NCL), SC, ST, EWS, and PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines. Candidates must have valid certificates to claim reservation. PwBD reservation is applied horizontally across all categories.

- The CBT consists of 100 objective Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs): 1 mark each, with 0.25 negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Duration: 150 minutes. PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe will get 20 minutes per hour of compensatory time.
- Scribe Guidelines: Blind, BA (both arms affected), and cerebral palsy candidates may bring their own scribe. The scribe must be one step below the candidate’s qualification. - If the exam is held in multiple sessions, scores will be normalized across sessions.

IOCL 2025 – CBT Qualifying & Shortlisting Criteria
Shortlisting for Group Discussion (GD), Group Task (GT), and Personal Interview (PI) will be based on CBT marks (out of 100) arranged in descending order for each domain.
Qualifying CBT alone does not guarantee shortlisting for the next stages
