The online application process for IOCL Engineers/Officers (Grade-A) recruitment 2025 will start on 5th September 2025 and will continue until 21st September 2025, 5:00 PM. Admit cards for the Computer Based Test (CBT) are expected to be issued from 17th October 2025, and the CBT is scheduled for 31st October 2025. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a full-time degree in Electrical Engineering or its related specializations as mentioned on the degree certificate, including:

Points to Remember

• Candidates must have a qualifying BE/B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering or its related specializations as mentioned in the notification. Those with degrees in other disciplines are not eligible. The Corporation reserves the right to make the final decision regarding eligibility in case of any variation.
• Candidates with combined, integrated, or inter-disciplinary degrees like Mechatronics, Robotics, etc., are not eligible.
• Applicants should be able to produce their final degree/marksheet by 31st October 2025 and meet the minimum percentage of marks as prescribed. Shortlisted candidates will only be allowed to join if their aggregate marks meet the required criteria.
• If the final marks are awarded as CGPA/GPA/letter grades, candidates must provide a conversion certificate from their institute during document verification. Fractions of percentages will not be rounded up (e.g., 59.99% is treated as less than 60%). If the institute does not follow a conversion formula, a certificate stating the same must be submitted; IOCL may calculate the equivalent percentage using a multiplication factor.
• Candidates who have pursued or completed ME/M.Tech as part of an integrated or dual degree program are eligible only if their BE/B.Tech degree is in the specified disciplines.

  • Dual Degree (two separate degrees – BE/B.Tech and ME/M.Tech): Only BE/B.Tech marks/CGPA will be considered.

  • Integrated Degree (single degree – ME/M.Tech at the end of program): Overall ME/M.Tech marks/CGPA will be considered.

• Part-time, correspondence, distance, or online degrees are not eligible.

Age Limit:

• Candidates applying from the General/EWS category must not be older than 26 years as of 1st July 2025.
• Certificate issued by Board of Secondary Education for passing Matriculation/Higher Secondary declaring the date of birth is the only accepted document in support of proof of age.

Age relaxation for other categories will be provided as per Government of India guidelines:

Physical Fitness:

• Final selection and joining of candidates is subject to meeting the physical fitness criteria as per IOCL’s Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) guidelines.
• Candidates are advised to review the “Guidelines and Criteria for Physical Fitness for Pre-Employment Medical Examination” available under ‘Latest Job Opening’ on the IndianOil Careers page at www.iocl.com before filling the online application.
• All candidates must ensure they meet the required physical fitness parameters before applying.
• Medical reports, as per the prescribed format in the guidelines, will be submitted at the time of joining if the candidate is selected.

Reservation Policy for IOCL Engineers/Officers Recruitment 2025

• Category-wise Reservation: Vacancies are reserved for OBC (NCL), SC, ST, EWS, and PwBD candidates as per Government of India guidelines. Candidates must have valid certificates to claim reservation. PwBD reservation is applied horizontally across all categories.
• Important: Submitting false or incorrect certificates at any stage will lead to cancellation of candidature or termination of service.

Category-Specific Requirements:

1. SC/ST Candidates:

   • Must belong to the Central List of SC/ST for their state.

   • Certificate should include date of issue, certificate number, and exact spelling of the caste/tribe.

   • SC/ST candidates from Maharashtra also need a valid Caste Validity certificate.

2. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Candidates:

   • Must belong to the Central List of OBCs for their state.

   • Certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2025.

   • Candidates in the creamy layer cannot claim OBC reservation and must apply as General.

   • Self-undertaking may be required at the time of Personal Interview.

3. EWS (Economically Weaker Section) Candidates:

   • Certificate must be valid for financial year 2025–26, based on income/assets of 2024–25.

   • Must include the candidate’s photo, date of issue, and issuing authority’s stamp/signature.

4. PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Candidates:

   • Disability must be permanent with at least 40% severity.

   • Candidates must produce PwBD certificate in the latest prescribed format and a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card.

   • Categories include:

     • VI (Visual Impairment): Blindness and low vision

     • HI (Hearing Impairment): Deaf and hard of hearing

     • LD (Locomotor Disability): Includes cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims, muscular dystrophy

     • Others: Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness

IOCL Electrical 2025 Selection Process & Shortlisting

The IOCL recruitment will be conducted in three stages:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Group Discussion (GD) & Group Task (GT)
3. Personal Interview (PI)

IOCL Electrical Exam Pattern 2025 for Computer Based Test (CBT)

Total Questions: 100 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs)

• The CBT consists of 100 objective Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs): 1 mark each, with 0.25 negative marking for incorrect answers.
• Duration: 150 minutes. PwBD candidates eligible for a scribe will get 20 minutes per hour of compensatory time.
• Scribe Guidelines: Blind, BA (both arms affected), and cerebral palsy candidates may bring their own scribe. The scribe must be one step below the candidate’s qualification. A certificate from the Chief Medical Officer/authorized authority is required. Proforma is available under ‘Latest Job Opening’ on IndianOil Careers.
• If the exam is held in multiple sessions, scores will be normalized across sessions.
• Candidates must choose 3 preferred test cities while applying. Preferences cannot be changed later. IOCL reserves the right to modify/add/remove test centers.

CBT Test Centers:

IOCL 2025 – CBT Qualifying & Shortlisting Criteria 

Shortlisting for Group Discussion (GD), Group Task (GT), and Personal Interview (PI) will be based on CBT marks (out of 100) arranged in descending order for each domain.

Qualifying CBT alone does not guarantee shortlisting for the next stages

Candidates must meet both section-wise and overall cut-offs to qualify for further stages.

IOCL 2025 – Document Verification & Eligibility Check

1. Eligibility of shortlisted candidates will be verified before GD, GT, and PI. Only those who meet the criteria and submit valid original documents in the latest format will be allowed to proceed.
2. Candidates must produce original documents supporting the information provided in their online application. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
3. Candidates claiming relaxation or reservation must provide relevant supporting certificates in the latest prescribed format at the time of verification.
4. Selection is provisional and subject to verification of certificates, testimonials, and medical fitness.
5. Candidates are advised to fill the application form carefully and ensure all details are correct.

IOCL 2025 – Merit List & Composite Score

The merit list will include only those candidates who qualify individually in all selection components and meet the composite score criteria.

IOCL Electrical Engineering Salary 2025 – Pay Scale

Selected candidates for Engineers/Officers (Grade-A) in IOCL will be offered a salary in the range of ₹50,000 to ₹1,60,000 per month, depending on the post, location, and experience. In addition to the basic pay, employees are entitled to allowances, perks, and benefits as per IOCL’s service rules.
