Table of Contents
NTPC Limited, formerly known as National Thermal Power Corporation Limited, is an Indian Public Sector Undertaking. Candidates with Diploma in Engineering Streams will get selected towards the NTPC Diploma Trainee positions across different NTPC stations in the country. The diploma trainees will be recruited at the W6 level. They will undergo the training for two years at NTPC sites and will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 24000 per month as stipend. On successful completion of the training, they will get promoted to the W7 pay level with basic pay of Rs. 24000. Diploma engineers are in the non-executive cadre service.

NTPC Diploma Trainee Exam Pattern
The selection process involves two stages of written examinations. Final selections will be based on the merit in the second stage written examination only.

The minimum qualifying marks for the candidates from the General category is 40% marks, and 30% in case of SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwBD candidates.
Stage 02
- Topic: Relevant Discipline ( Multiple Choice Questions)
- Maximum Marks: 120 Marks
- Exam Duration: 02 hours
The candidates will be required to sign a service agreement bond of Rs. 100000 + GST for General and OBC candidates, and Rs. 50,000 + GST for SC/ ST, and PwD candidates to serve for the NTPC for minimum three years.
