OPSC Administrative Services Selection Process 2023
Three steps make up the OPSC OAS selection procedure. First, the preliminary examinations must be passed; next, the main exams; and finally, the interview round. Even though the OPSC is a qualifying exam, the results from the Mains and Interview rounds are taken into account when creating the merit list. Following the exam, the merit list is released. Therefore, qualified applicants should check the official website for the OPSC OAS Notice 2023. The notification will publish soon.
OPSC OAS Prelims Exam Pattern 2023
- Multiple Choice Questions are used in the Prelims screening exam.
- Two 2-hour papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2) will make up the test.
- To qualify for the main exam, students must pass Paper 2 with a score of at least 33%.
1/3rd of the total mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

OPSC OAS Mains Exam Pattern 2023
- There are nine exam sets in the main exam, which is an essay-based test.
- The first and second papers will be qualifying exams for the 10th grade.
- Each paper has a 3 hour time limit.

Paper 1
- Current events of National and International importance;
- History of India and Indian National Movement;
- Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World;
- Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
- Economic and Social Development-sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
- General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change that do not require subject specialization, and
- General Science.

Paper III – English Essay
Candidates will have to submit an essay on a specified subject. There will be a selection of topics. They will be asked to write concisely, organise their ideas clearly, and stick strictly to the essay’s topic. For precise and effective expression, credit will be granted.

- Geography of India will cover the following-
- Physical, economic and social geography of India.
- Odisha’s Physiography and Drainage system
- Odisha’s Natural Resources – Water, forest and minerals.
Indian Polity
