The Bihar Police Sub-Ordinate Service Commission(BPSSC) has announced the preliminary examination dates for the Sub-Inspector posts. BPSSC will conduct the written examination for the Preliminary for Sub Inspector, Sergeant and Assistant Superintendent Jail Posts. 2446 vacancies are reported as in September 2019. Candidates below 37 years with graduation are eligible for the Bihar Police Sub Inspector selection.

Bihar Police Sub Inspector Exam Pattern
Preliminary Examination
- Number of Questions: 100
- Total Marks: 200
- Exam Duration: 120 minutes (02 Hours)
- Syllabus/Exam Topic: General Knowledge and Current Affairs
Candidates should score at least more than 30% to appear for the Main Examination. There will be negative marking of 0.2 for every wrong answer.
Main Examination
The Main Examination includes a two-part examination.
