How to Prepare for Current Affairs for RRB Group D 2020

RRB Group D exams are expected to be held in the month of December. The exams are held to fill a whooping number of vacancies for various posts. A total of 1,03,769 vacancies are expected to be filled for posts like Track maintainer grade -IV, Helper/ Assistant in various technical departments etc. This exam is a golden opportunity for candidates to fulfill their dream of joining the prestigious Indian Railways sector. RRB Group D 2020 – Exam Pattern

The exam will be Computer Based Test (CBT). Those candidates who clear CBT will undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This will be followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. The exam will be held for a duration of 90 minutes. The pattern of the exam is as follows:

The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).

Mathematics

Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.

General intelligence and reasoning

Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.

General awareness and current affairs

General Awareness and Current Affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subject of importance.

Preparation strategy – General Awareness and Current Affairs

The questions in this section will carry a total of 20 marks. This section aims at testing the candidate’s general awareness and knowledge of current affairs happening around the world and India. As there will be negative marks for every wrong answer, the candidate should only answer the questions if he is sure about the answer.

The best way to prepare for current affairs is to read newspaper, magazines and GK blogs. Read the newspaper daily. Watch news channels regularly in both local language and in English. Prepare short notes on important happening around the world and India, like introduction of new Government schemes, appointments to important positions and so on. Keep revising the notes every week to ensure maximum retention rate.
