Kerala PSC HSST Botany 2026 Vacancy
The number of vacancies for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior) – Botany (Category No. 716/2025) is anticipated. The ranked list prepared by the Kerala Public Service Commission in response to this notification will remain in force for a minimum of one year and up to a maximum of three years or until a new list is published, whichever is earlier.
4% of the vacancies are reserved for differently abled candidates as per G.O(P) No. 5/2023/SJD dated 01.10.2023. Appointments will be made from the ranked list as vacancies arise during its validity.
Kerala PSC HSST Botany 2026 Eligibility Criteria – Age & Qualification
Method of Appointment: Direct Recruitment
Age Limit: Candidates must be 20–40 years old (born between 02.01.1985 and 01.01.2005). Usual age relaxation applies for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Upper age limit is relaxable up to 43 years as on 01.01.2025 for qualified Ministerial Staff under the Higher Secondary Education Department (GO(P) No. 36/2005/Gl.Edn).
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in the concerned subject (Botany) with at least 50% marks from a Kerala University or an equivalent qualification recognized by a Kerala University.
- B.Ed Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized Kerala University.

In absence of candidates with B.Ed in the concerned subject, B.Ed in the concerned faculty or in any subject will be considered.

OR M.Sc.Ed in the concerned subject with minimum 50% marks from a Regional Institute of Education (NCERT).

Must have passed the Kerala State Eligibility Test (SET) or be eligible for exemptions as per PSC rules.
Exemptions from SET:

Candidates with SLET for College Lecturers, NET/JRF, M.Ed, Ph.D, M.Phil, or 10 years of approved teaching service in High Schools are exempted.
Additional Notes:
- 5% relaxation in PG marks is allowed for SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates.
- Weightage marks are awarded for non-qualifying degrees (M.Phil, Ph.D, Post-Doctoral Fellowship) in the subject.
- Degrees from UGC-approved universities or equivalent recognized institutions are acceptable.
- Candidates must produce original certificates for verification, including caste/community certificates if applicable.
Kerala PSC HSST Botany 2026 Selection Process – Stages
The selection for the post of Higher Secondary School Teacher (Junior) – Botany (Category No. 716/2025) will be conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission through the following stages:
- Written Test: Eligible candidates will first appear for a written examination conducted by the Commission to assess their subject knowledge and teaching aptitude.

Visit the Kerala PSC website (www.keralapsc.gov.in) and complete the One Time Registration. Candidates already registered can log in with their User ID and password. -
Access the Notification:
After logging in, go to the Notification Link and click “Apply Now” for the Botany post. -
Upload Photograph:
New candidates must upload a recent photograph (taken within the last six months) with their name and date printed clearly. This photo will remain valid for 10 years. -
Complete Profile Details:
Fill in all personal, educational, and community details correctly. Candidates are responsible for the accuracy of the information. -
Submit Application:
Verify all details before submission. Once submitted, the application is provisional and cannot be edited or deleted. -
Print Application:
Keep a printout or soft copy of the submitted application from the “My Applications” section for future reference. -
Examination Confirmation (if applicable):
Candidates must submit confirmation for the written/OMR/online test through their profile. Only confirmed candidates can download admission tickets during the last 15 days before the exam. -
