Railway has invited the application for the posts of RPF Constables & SI from both male & female candidates. Those who have passed the Matrix (SSLC) and Graduation examination respectively & under 25 years are eligible for the posts.
Newly appointed candidates will get their salary based on the 7th CPC which will show a push in the gross salary amount compared to the 6th CPC. House Rent Allowance(HRA) will be 8 % (minimum) of their basic pay and the Dearness Allowance (DA) will be of 4%.
The in-hand salary of the new appointees will vary according to their posting centres. According to the population posting centres are classified into three; X, Y & Z.
The HRA will be 5208, 3472 and 1734 for the X, Y and Z cities respectively.
For the Constable :
Grade Pay: Rs. 2000/
Basic pay: Rs. 21700/
Along with HRA & DA, appointees will also get other allowances like Travelling Allowance, Over Duty Allowance, Night Duty Allowance etc.. As per the 7th pay matrix, the revised HRA will be respectively 24%, 16% & 8 % for X, Y and Z cities.
Classification of the cities are based on the population of the respective cities, i.e,
X class cities – Population more than 50 lakhs.
Y class cities – Population between 5 – 50 lakhs.
Z class cities – Population less than 5 lakhs.
So the gross salary will be in the range of, Rs. 27000 – Rs. 32, 700 depending on the posting centre.
For SI :
Grade Pay – Rs. 4200/
Along with HRA & DA, appointees will also get other allowances like Travelling Allowance, Over Duty Allowance, Night Duty Allowance etc.. As per the 7th pay matrix, the revised HRA will be respectively 24%, 16% & 8 % for X, Y and Z cities.
So, depending on the posting centres the gross salary will be in the range of, Rs. 42, 000 – Rs. 52,000.
