The Staff Selection Commission organizes SSC CHSL 2019 examination for the positions of Postal Assistants or Sorting Assistants, Court Clerks, Data Entry Operators, Lower Division Clerks, etc to the governmental sectors. The positions need eligibility in higher secondary educational qualifications. The candidates who complete the SSLC with Plus Two can apply for the post.
SSC CHSL 2019: Exam Pattern
The recruitment procedure of SSC CHSL includes three-tier or phases. The initial one is the computer-based exam with objective type questions. The eligible candidates from this preliminary stage can write the written exam which is a descriptive paper. Finally, the eligible candidates should attend a skill test which includes the typing test and another skill test.

SSC CHSL 2019 Tier 1 Exam Pattern
The SSC CHSL initial phase will be the online objective type examination with a duration of 60 minutes. The candidates are instructed to answer 100 questions with a total score of 200 marks. There will be negative marks for the wrong answers; a point of 0.50 marks will be deducted from the total for each wrong answer. The papers for the examination includes
• General Intelligence with 25 questions and 50 marks
• English Language with 25 questions and 50 marks
• Quantitative Aptitude with 25 questions and 50 marks
• General Awareness/General Knowledge with 25 questions and 50 marks

SSC CHSL 2019 Tier 2 Exam Pattern
The second phase of SSC CHSL examination is descriptive type, where the candidates will be instructed to write essays/letters/applications on any given topic. The total marks will be in 100 and the allowed time will be 60 minutes. It is to be noted that the exam must be written in English or Malayalam. The eligibility for the next level depends on the qualification mark of 33 percent which is to be attained by the candidates. The essay for the examination should have a word count limit of 200-250 while the letter/ application writing should contain 150-200 word limit.
SSC CHSL 2019 Tier 3 Exam Pattern
There will be a typing test conducted for the candidates who qualify in the second phase. The typing skill test will only be conducted by the candidates who applied for the Data Entry Operator (DEO). For English, typing speed of 35 words per minute is mandatory. For Hindi typing speed of 30 words per minute is required. Typing Test will be necessary for Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC, and Court Clerk posts.
The skill test is for the Data Entry Operator post where the Data Entry Speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on the computer. For DEO in C&AG office speed of 15000 key per hour is mandatory, within the duration of the test is 15 minutes.

General Intelligence
General Intelligence will have questions of both verbal and non-verbal kind, so it is to be concentrated on Symbolic Classification, Symbolic operations, Number Series, Figural Analogy, Semantic Analogy, Semantic Trends along with other important references
English Language
The English Language will have questions from Comprehension Passage, Error Spotting, Antonyms, Synonyms/Homonyms Idioms & Phrases, Shuffled Sentences, Cloze Passage, Detecting Misspelled words, etc.
Quantitative Aptitude
Quantitative Aptitude is a wide area to be explored. Generally the Algebra, Number Systems, Mensuration, Trigonometry, Geometry, Fundamental arithmetical operations, and Statistical Charts
General Awareness
In General Awareness the candidate must possess a basic idea of general affairs, the events, the history, the surrounding incidents and relevant topics discussed in general, news and society are to be emphasized.
Candidates who are preparing for the SSC CHSL examination should be updated in their knowledge. As the information shift and variation occurs they have to keep a track on the revised versions of knowledge and have efficacy in the English language.
