SSC CGL 2021 Selection Process
The Combined Graduate Level recruitment has four stages of screening:
- Preliminary Stage CBT
- Stage-II CBT
- Descriptive Exam
- Skill Test
SSC CGL Preliminary Examination
SSC CGL Tier-01 Computer Based Objective Test will be conducted in various different shifts across the country. Using the commission’s own formula, they normalize the scores, before publishing the same.

SSC CGL Tier-03
The Staff Selection Commission’s CGL recruitment’s Stage -III is a descriptive test. Here the examinees will ask to write an Essay, Precis, Letter, or Application. The question paper will be bilingual, English, and Hindi. Exam Duration is 60 minutes ( 01 hours) and maximum marks are 100.
SSC CGL Tier-04
Stage: 04 of the SSC CGL is a skill test. The skill test has two sections based on the position: Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) and Computer Proficiency Tes (CPT)
- Data Entry Speed Test- Candidates are required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes on a computer in English. This test is only for Tax Assistants positions.
- Computer Proficiency Test- It is to check the candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations, etc. CPT is only for the posts under the Ministry of Mines and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
