The Railway Recruitment Board every year invites application for Junior Engineer and Senior Section Engineer. It is one of the biggest employers in India for various job profiles, out of which Engineering Posts have quite a large number of vacancies. RRB JE is conducted in two stages CBT-1 and CBT-2. The Stage 1 exam is a computer-based test. The CBR-1 exam is divided into four sections such as General Awareness, General Science, Reasoning, and Mathematics. Let’s check the details of all the topics of each section. The CBT-1 is of 100 Marks and CBT-2 is 150 marks, with 1/3 negative marking.
RRB JE Syllabus CBT-1: Mathematics Section
This is the first section of RRB JE, to clear this section you need to have a clear understanding of class 7-10 maths. The topics included under this section are Number Systems, Decimals, Polynomials, Factors and Simplification, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Distance, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Pipes and Cisterns, Problem on Ages, Bar-Diagram.
RRB JE Syllabus CBT-1: General Awareness
It is very important for an RRB JE candidate to stay updated with all the current day to day life scenarios. The General Awareness section in RRB JE examination checks the candidate’s knowledge about Rail Budget, Finance Marketing, current affairs, history geography, political, history, and economy-related topics. In this sections questions can also be around applying the very simple scientific methods in our everyday life.
RRB JE Syllabus CBT-1: General Intelligence and Reasoning
In RRB JE this section also determines a candidates ability to solve situation-based problems with abstract ideas, relationships and symbols between many arithmetic and analytical thinking..The Topics included in General Intelligence and Reasoning section are as follows,Decision Making, Direction Sense, Visual Memory,Blood Relations,Figural Classification, Arithmetical Reasoning, Similarities and Differences, Space Visualization or Space Orientation, Analogy,Non-Verbal Series,Number Series, Input-Output, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Word Building, Clock,Seating Arrangement.

RRB JE Syllabus CBT-2
The RRB JE CBT-2 consists of 150 marks. There is a negative marking of 1/3 for this stage as well. RRB JE CBT-2 contains Technical Abilities section which varies branch wise. Syllabus for braches of Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering has been mentioned above in SSC JE which is similar in RRB JE as well, the candidates can refer them above. The Technical Syllabus for branches of Electronics and Computer Engineering are mentioned below;
RRB JE Syllabus CBT-2 for Electronics Engineering
The Topics included in Electronics Engineer are Tunnel, Control System, Junctions, Diodes, EMFT, Analog, and Digital Circuits, Communication, Basics of Signal and Systems, Electronic Devices, Wireless Communication, Energy Bands, Signal and Systems, Generation and recombination of carriers.
RRB JE Syllabus CBT-2 for Computer Engineering
The Topics included in Computer Engineering are DBMS, Operating Systems, Computer Networks, Web Technology and Programming, Network Communication, Database, Algorithms, System Programming, Computer Fundamentals, MS Office, Information Systems, Software Engineering.
We hope this blog has given you detailed information on Syllabus for both SSC JE and RRB JE. The aspirants might have observed that the marks in RRB JE CBT – 1 is less than SSC JE Phase 1, and every year the vacancies of Railways recruitment board is higher than Staff Selection Committee. The conclusion is RRB JE is easier to qualify since the marks in the first stage is less as compared to SSC JE. The Phase 2 exams of both the section include the same technical knowledge needed.
