Examination Pattern and Syllabus for Territorial Army Recruitment 2021
Pattern of Examination
- The written exam for selecting candidates to territorial army consists of two papers, Paper I and Paper II
- Examination will be of objective type with negative marking for each wrong answer
- Each paper consists of questions from two different parts.
- The duration given for each paper is 2 hours
- Questions for the exam will be from elementary mathematics, reasoning, English and General Knowledge
- From each section, 50 questions will be asked, one mark for each question
- Total there will be 200 questions and maximum marks is also 200
- In order to crack the exam, qualifying marks for each section is 40%
- Candidates should also possess an overall average of 50% to clear the examination.
- Questions asked from elementary mathematics will be of matriculation level questions
- From the other sections questions asked will be of graduation level

Selection Process
- The initial selection process for recruiting candidates to the Territorial army consists of written exam and interview
- Interview will be conducted by the preliminary interview board (PIB), at the respective territorial Army Headquarters
- Candidates who clear the above stages will have to undergo further tests at the Service selection board (SSB) and medical board. After which final selection of the candidates will take place.
Candidates should also note that this recruitment to the territorial army is a part-time concept. No guaranteed pension will be there. However, allowances and privileges will be similar to that of military officers. This does not guarantee a full-time career.
