Part-1 (Translation from English to Hindi)

• Translation from English to Hindi of an extract from a Press Communique, Press Article or Government Resolution- 30 Marks
• Translation from English to Hindi of a section or some Sections of an Act of the legislature- 10 Marks
• Explanation of common expressions, clichés, etc, which might be met within either of the above, technical-official words- 10 Marks

Part-2 (Translation from Hindi to English)

• Translation of a portion of the newspaper article, speech, letter, etc- 30 Marks
• Translation of words and expressions commonly used in the above circumstances into idiomatic equivalents in English- 10 Marks
