Staff Nurse Eligibility

Educational Qualification: 

1) Male Staff Nurse (Medical and Health Services Department, Medical Education and Training Department) – A candidate for direct recruiting to the post of Staff Nurse (Male) must meet the following criteria.

(i) Have passed High School Examination with the main subject as Science and passed the Intermediate Examination of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an Exam recognised by the Government as equivalent thereof.

 (ii) Possess Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery or B.Sc Degree in Nursing which is registrable with the U.P. Nurses and Midwives Council or possesses a diploma in Psychiatry which is registrable with the U.P. Nurses & Midwives Council.

(iii) Possess registration certificate from the Uttar Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council as Nurse and Psychiatry or possess a registration certificate as Nurse and Midwives from the Uttar Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council.

2) Female Staff Nurse( Medical and Health Services Department, Medical Education and Training Department) – A candidate for direct recruiting to the post of Staff Nurse(Female) must meet the following criteria:

(i) Have passed High School Exam with Science as the main stream and passed the Intermediate Examination of the Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Uttar Pradesh or an Exam recognised by the Govt as equivalent thereof.

 (ii) Possess a diploma in General Nursing & midwifery or B.Sc Degree in Nursing that is registrable in accordance with the U.P. Nurses & Midwives Council. 

(iii) Possess registration certificate as Nurse and Midwife from the Uttar Pradesh Nurses and Midwives Council.

3) Sister Grade 2-  Hold a Diploma in General Nursing & midwifery from a recognized college/institute or equivalent qualification for male Nurse. Preferred are those candidates having 3 years experience in large hospitals or Medical College or the candidate’s B.Sc. Nursing should be a registered “A” Grade Nurse and Midwife with a State Nursing Council or equivalent Qualification for male nurses.

Age Limit

As per the notification of UPPSC, the age limit is 21-40 years for general, relaxation of 3 years for OBC, relaxation of 5 years for SC, ST available for 2021 Staff Nurse Recruitment.

UPPSC Staff Nurse Selection Process

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission will hold a Written Examination that is of the Objective Type at various centres of the Districts for the selection of suitable candidates for the posts of Staff Nurse/Sister Grade-2 (Male/Female).

The selection will be generally,  made as per Merit which is prepared on the basis of the total marks that are obtained by the candidates in the said Examination along with additional marks as per provision of Rule-15(3)(b) in accordance with the U.P. subordinate “Nursing (Non-Gazetted) Service (4th Amendment) Rules-2016.” The Centre of Exam, decided by the Commission, will be then intimated to the candidates by means of their e-Admission Certificate. The no. of Districts/centres may be increased/decreased in accordance with the decision of the Commission on the basis of the final number of applications received.
