Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is all set to start a massive recruitment drive for the job seekers in 2022. As a beginning, RRB has invited application from the engineers ( both graduates and diploma holders) across the country to fill nearly 13,487 Junior Engineer (JE) vacant posts. Candidates who have completed either 3-years diploma or bachelors in engineering are eligible for the posts. It will be a golden opportunity for engineering graduates to secure a government job. Interested candidates can fill their application through the RRB official websites by January 31, 2019. Before applying candidates has to go through the vacancy list and should select the RRB to which they want to apply. Candidates can apply to only one particular railway zone. The number of vacancies and the cut off marks will vary for each zone. The recruitment process includes two stages of Computer Based Test (CBT), while the first one is common for all the second stage will test the candidate’s knowledge in their trade. Before getting the final selection one has to successfully pass the medical test and the document verification process.

Eligibility :
Age: 18 -33 years Age relaxation is subjected to central government norms.
Education Qualification :
- Junior Engineer & Depot Material Superintendent – Three year diploma / Graduation in any stream of Engineering.
- Junior Engineer (IT) – B.Sc. Computer Science / PGDCA / B.Tech (IT /CS)
- Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant – B.Sc., Chemistry and Physics.
Note: Candidates in the final year is not eligible for these posts.
Exam Pattern
The selection process involves two stages of written examination following the medical examination
Preliminary stage :
Exam Duration: 90 minutes Number of Questions: 100
- Mathematics (30 questions )
- General Intelligence & Reasoning ( 25 questions)
- General Awareness (15 questions)
- General Science (30 questions)
Stage 02:
Exam Duration: 120 minutes Number of Questions: 150
- General Awareness (15 questions)
- Physics & Chemistry ( 15 questions)
- Basics of Computers and Applications (10 questions)
- Basics of Environment and Pollution Control (10 questions)
- Technical Abilities (100 questions)
The cut-off marks for each section of the exam and for each post varies accordingly. One should score more than 70 in the preliminary stage and more than 100 in the main examination to have some hope for the job. Daily practice and model question papers are the keys for these magic numbers. Work out as many problems as you can find from each section to increase your pace and knowledge.
