The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts exams to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices. The commission recently released the notification regarding the recruitment for the post of General Duty Constable. The aspirants who are eligible can now start applying for the exam. The date of online computer based examination is yet to be announced. The aspirants can download the notification from the official website of SSC.
Vacancies:
There are 54,953 posts open for both male and female.
The exam is conducted for the recruitment of General Duty(GD) constable in
- Border Security Force (BSF)
- Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB)
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
- National Investigation Agency (NIA)
- Secretariat Security Force (SSF)
- Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles (AR).
Eligibility:
The aspiring candidates should meet the following criteria to be eligible to apply for the examination:
Educational qualification: 10th pass
Age limit: between 18 years and 23 years
There is upper age limit relaxation for SC/ST/OBC and Ex-servicemen.
Recruitment process:
The recruitment process will consist of the following:-
- Online computer-based examination
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Physical Standards Test (PST)
- Medical Test
How to apply:
The candidates can apply for the examination through the official site of SSC from July 24, 2018.
Step 1: Open the official website ssc.nic.in
Step 2: Click on the “Apply” button.
Step 3: Select the “Constable-GD” tab.
Step 4: Fill up the application form with correct details like name, contact information, educational qualification etc. and submit.
Step 5: Confirm your registration by paying the application fee.
Step 6: Download and make a hard copy of the application form for the future purpose.
The final date for online application and fee payment is 24th August 2018.

General / OBC : Rs. 100/-
All other categories: NIL
Salary range
The pay scale of the SSC GD Constable is Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,000
