What Would Be The Job Market For Coders In 10 Years’ Time?
I’m not sure, you see in 10 years’ time I will be coding a new revolutionizing website or app that will change how everyone uses computers and phones… it might even make me rich. That’s what I wanted to say but honestly, if you asked me that question five years ago my reply would have been drastically different. My first year of high school was when I learned how to program. It was a fun hobby and nothing more. Then came college, friends convinced me it would be great to code video games as a career. So I started taking computer science classes, went through internships, etc… but now that I’m actually working as a programmer I find myself asking: is it really worth all of my free time?
What Are Your Thoughts On Coding As A Boring Job In The Next 5 Years?
If coding was to become a boring job, I’d consider leaving my job as a software engineer. If coding was to become boring and repetitive in nature, it would not be worth my time anymore to spend hours at work on something that has no real meaning. However, if coding does not develop and evolve into more exciting technology like VR or AR where I have to use my programming skills for more fun purposes then yes, I think coding will eventually become a boring job. This is because we will probably get bored of using our phones just for basic functions such as calling someone or texting someone because some other company might come up with something better than smartphones. And if that happens, who knows what could happen with people’s lives when they eventually stop needing a smartphone.
