Staff Selection Commission has invited applications from eligible candidates to fill the vacant Multi Tasking Staff(MTS) – Non Technical positions across different departments. Interested candidates can fill their applications from April 22 onwards through the online mode.
MTS positions in Group ‘C’ is considered as one of the highly desirable positions. MTS recruitment process is considerably easy while the window for career growth is huge.

The candidates must have passed the SSLC / Matriculation examination or
the equivalent from a recognized Board on or before August 2019. The candidates must be between 18-25 years as on 01-08-2019 for applying. Age relaxations for SC/ST, Ex-servicemen etc are based on the central government norms.
Vacancy
Even though the number of vacant positions are not mentioned in the official notification, more than 10,000 positions are expecting. SSC will update the number of vacancies in their websites from time to time. Candidates can find the details from the official website of SSC.
Salary
After the 7th pay commission, there will be an increment of almost 20% in the salary. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) is a group ‘C’ non-gazetted, a non-ministerial post under Payscale-1 (Rs.5200 – 20200) + Grade Pay Rs.1800. The in-hand salary of MTS ranges between Rs.20,000 – 24,000 /month.
Selection Process
The SSC MTS recruitment process is comparatively easier than that of CHSL & CGL. The recruitment process involves two stages of examinations, Computer Based Test (CBT) in stage 01 and a descriptive test in stage 02.
Stage 01 – Computer Based Test (CBT)

- Total Time – 90 minutes
Stage 02 – Descriptive Test
The descriptive paper is for 30 minutes and for 50 marks. The candidates can write the paper either in English or in any other language that is mentioned in the 8th schedule. The question will be either to write a short essay or a letter. This stage is of qualifying nature.

vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms & antonyms etc.
General Intelligence and Reasoning: similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation,
relationship concepts, figure classification, number series, non-verbal series etc.
Numerical Aptitude: Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations,
Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit
and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
General Awareness: History, Geography, Current Affairs, Sports, Polity etc..
