SSC CPO notification was released earlier by SSC in their official website. The Staff Selection Commission has invited applications from eligible graduates below 25 years towards the Central Police services. The SSC conducts the CPO recruitment test to select candidates towards Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in CISF. SSC CAPF Physical Test plays a crucial role in the recruitment of candidates for the post of SI in CAPF as one cannot get selected for the post of Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPF if the candidate is not physically and medically fit.
SSC CAPF Scheme of Examination
The examination consists of Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). All these stages of the examination are mandatory. Details of these Papers/ Tests are as follows:
- SSC CPO 2020 Exam will be held on objective mode with MCQs.
- One cannot get selected for the post of Sub- and Delhi Police in CAPF & Delhi Police if the candidate is not physically and medically fit. Candidates have to clear physical and medical tests.
- SSC CPO 2020 Exam will be bilingual i.e. in the languages Hindi and English.
- This Exam will observe negative marking with as much as 0.25 as a penalty for every mistake committed by the candidate.
- Marks scored by candidates in Computer Based Examination will be normalized by using the
formula published by the Commission through Notice and such normalized scores will be used to determine final merit and cut off marks. - Tentative Answer Keys will be placed on the Commission‟s website after the Examination.
- The Admit Cards for PET/PST will be uploaded on the websites of Regional Offices of the Commission in due course.

Physical Endurance Test (PET) (For all posts)
For male candidates only
- 100-meter race in 16 seconds
- 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes
- Long Jump- 3.65 meters in 3 chances
- High Jump- 1.2 meters in 3 chances
- Shot put (16 Lbs)- 4.5 meters in 3 chance
For female candidates only
- 100-meter race in 18 seconds
- 800-meter race in 4 minutes
- Long Jump- 2.7 meters in 3 chances
- High Jump- 0.9 meters in 3 chances
PST/ PET will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying nature.
SSC CPO Medical Standards
- Eyesight: The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye). The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye) of both eyes without any corrections.
- The candidate with knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes are ineligible.
- Candidates should possess high colour vision.
- Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any forms of physical defects.
- A tattoo depicting religious symbol or figures and the name, as followed in Indian Army is permitted. The size of the tattoo must be less than ¼ of the particular part (Elbow or Hand) of the body.
SSC CPO Paper 2: Pattern
SSC CPO Paper-2 will be held once you qualify for PET/PST Test for SSC CPO 2020
- The maximum time duration of the SSC CPO Paper 2 exam is of 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours.
- The total number of questions given in the paper is 200 carrying 200 marks.
- The test will comprise of English Language and Comprehension to be held online.
The final merit list will be determined on the foundation of the performance of the candidate in all the three stages of the SSC CPO Exam.
