One of the major jobs offered for SSC is CGL Income Tax Inspector. It is a Group C post in Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). CBDT works across the country to raise direct taxes.

Income Tax Inspector: Working Hours
Working hours are mostly standard like all Indian Govt jobs which is 9am to 6pm but in Non-Assessment one can work longer hours in harsh environment like raids, searches, arrests etc.
If you are in the investigation department, then you have to work on weekends as well. Without a break, employees would have to work 3 to 4 days continuously (in high season).

Training of SSC CGL Income Tax Inspector
Training takes place for all selected applicants. The training is for 12 weeks and is done at the National Training Center for Direct Taxes (DTRTI) in the area to which they have been assigned.
