Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level Examination also referred to as SSC CGL is an examination conducted to recruit staff to various posts in Ministries, Departments and Organisations of the Government of India. It is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to select staff for various Group B and Group C posts. Notice was released on August 26 2020 announcing the tier 3 SSC CGL 2019 exam to be held on November 22 2020. The Tier-3 examination of the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE), 2018 which was held on December 29 2019 is expected to be released soon as per the latest notice released on August 21 2020. SSC CGL Selection Process 2020
The SSC CGL examination is conducted in four stages as mentioned below

SSC CGL Tier 1: Computer Based Test
The tier 1 is the first stage of the selection process of SSC CGL examination. It is an online based objective type test with a total of four subjects included. The duration is one hour with each subject carrying 50 marks each.

Note:
- There is negative marking of 0.5 marks will be deducted from every question that is attempted wrong by a candidate in all the sections.
- The exam duration is 80 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped and suffering from Cerebral Palsy.
SSC CGL Tier 2: Computer Based Test
Candidates who gets qualified in the Tier 1 examination will be asked to appear for the Tier 2 examination. Tier 2 exams will be conducted online with objective type questions. The tier 2 stage of SSC CGL selection process includes a total of four papers with the mandatory paper 1 and paper 2 for all the posts under SSC CGL. Paper-III will be for only those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and who are shortlisted in Tier-I for this Post/Paper. Paper-IV will be for only those candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper-IV, i.e., for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Note:
- There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.
- Questions in Paper-I will be of Matriculation Level, Paper-II of 10+2 Level and in Paper-III and Paper-IV of Graduation Level.
- The exam duration is 2 hours and 40 minutes for candidates who are visually handicapped.
- Qualified candidates from the Tier 2 exam will be eligible for the Tier 3 examination
SSC CGL Tier 3: Descriptive Paper
Tier 3 is a descriptive paper with a duration of one hour. The candidate can attempt the paper in Hindi or English

SSC CGL Tier 4
The Tier 4 stage of the SSC CGL Exam includes skill tests followed by document verification. Skill tests will be conducted only for certain posts as mentioned below
- Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for the post of Tax Assistants (Central Excise & Income Tax).
- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for the post of Assistant Section Officer of Central Secretariat Service (CSS), Assistant Section Officer (MEA), Assistant in Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Assistant (GSI) in the Ministry of Mines.
