The recruitment will mainly be based on the written test conducted by the Commission. The level of competition this year is expected to be higher than the previous year and until and unless a systematic preparation is done it is impossible to get through the written test. For that one needs to have a clear understanding of the syllabus of the test and also the knowledge about the books that need to be referred to cover the entire syllabus.

Books for Reference
The primary source for all Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission exams is the Tamil Nadu State Board books. This applies for Group VIIB and Group VIII exams as well. So if a high score in the written exams is your aim, you definitely need to go through the State Board school books. It has to be noted that the General studies syllabus of Group VIIB is of Degree Standard and that of Group VIII is of SSLC Standard. So a deeper study of the State Board School books will be required for the Group VIIB exams than that of Group VIII exams. The General English /General Tamil Syllabus for both the exams are of SSLC Standard. So referring School books from 6th to 10th Standard is advised.
