The Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II is a General Central Service, Group ‘C’ (Non-gazetted, Non-Ministerial) posts. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) ACIO Grade-II executive post has All India Service liability, so you cant expect the posting in your home town. IB ACIO Grade-II executive posts are under the Ministry of Home Affairs.  So like any other central government employee, you will have a heavy paycheck with basic pay of Rs. 46200 with grade pay in the pay band 2. The IB ACIO salary in 2020 will be around Rs. 80000/. Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence Officer (ACIO) Grade-II is entitled to the salary in the pay scale of Rs 9,300-34,800 plus Grade Pay Rs 4200 (Pay Band – 2). Even though the position is temporary, they are also qualified for the central government employees allowances like DA, HRA, TA, etc. The allowance entitled in the IB ACIO salary slip is:

Basic Pay is the basic component of the salary and it constitutes 40-50% of your total pay. Basic Pay is the taxable component in your salary slip. The House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Provident fund amounts will vary according to the basic pay. Dearness allowance is paid to increase your basic pay following the prevailing inflation rate. This component will be 30-40% of your basic pay.  The current DA rate is 17% and may increase to 21% by year-end.

Along with above-given allowances, officers may get extra allowances for Cook Salary, Maid Salary, Newspapers, Cable Tv Subscriptions, Entertainment allowances too. So if you get appointed as post-in-charge you will get an additional allowance of Rs. 14250. From your gross salary, there will be education cess deductions, income tax deduction, etc. The  Dearness Allowances (DA) is declared twice in a year for compensating the price hikes of the essential commodities. The Dearness Allowance (DA) has been hiked from 17 per cent to 21 per cent on March 13, 2020.

House Rent Allowance (HRA)

The House rent allowance (HRA) will depend upon your posting centre. The minimum entitled HRA for Class X, Y and Z cities is Rs. 5400/- pm, Rs. 3600/- pm and Rs.1800/- pm respectively. The HRA would be 24%, 16% and 8% of the Basic pay for X, Y and Z class cities respectively.

The House Rent Allowances (HRA) varies across different places in the Country based on the class classification.

In total, a newly appointed IB ACIO will have a gross salary of around Rs. 87709, and after deductions, your in-hand salary will be approximately Rs. 73515/.
