K-TET Salary 2025: Kerala TET Salary Scale
Kerala TET-qualified teachers receive salaries based on their teaching level and post. The pay varies for lower primary, upper primary, high school, and specialist teachers. Below is a category-wise salary table showing the official pay scale, in-hand salary, and other financial details to help you understand what to expect after qualifying KTET.

Kerala TET Salary 2025: Benefits & Allowance
KTET-qualified teachers receive several allowances and benefits in addition to their basic pay. These include Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) based on location, and City Compensation Allowance (CCA). Eligible candidates may also receive special allowances like disability support and other government-declared benefits, ensuring financial stability and added perks.
Dearness Allowance (DA)
Dearness Allowance will be given to candidates based on their job category and will be 28% with the basic pay as of 01.07.2020. The candidate will receive 36% DA in addition to their base salary, as approved by the Kerala government. The new DA calculation formula is as follows:

House Rent Allowance
House Rent Allowance for KTET Teachers will be 10% of their salary, depending on where they live. For Class A cities, the candidate will receive Rs. 2350. The KTET House Rent Allowance will be divided into four classes. The candidate will receive HR Allowance based on the level of city class listed below.
- Class A: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kochi, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur Corporation limits. Furthermore, Forest Complex, Mathottam, Kozhikode, and Government Institutions are located within a 3-kilometer radius of the Civil Station, Kakkanad.
- The Municipalities at District Headquarters are classified as Class B.
- All municipalities other than those at District Headquarters are classified as Class C.
- All Panchayaths in Class D

Travel allowance
KTET Salary includes a travel allowance based on mode of travel and city. Employees will receive Travel Allowance in accordance with their pay scale and class category. Lower and upper primary teachers will receive a travel allowance of Rs. 500 in Kerala and Rs. 650 for out-of-state job postings.
Allowance for Spectacles
The KTET salary also includes a spectacle allowance of Rs. 1500, which is given once every five years as reimbursement for the cost of purchasing spectacles. After 5 years in the job, the employee will be eligible for this allowance
Hill Trace Allowance
Kerala TET Salary includes a rate of Hill Trace Allowance based on their pay scale. The rate of Hill Tract Allowance will be given in several ranges, as shown below
- Rs.43400 & above Rs. 500
- Rs. Above ₹ 25100 and below ₹ 43400 Rs. 450
- Rs. Upto₹ 25100 Rs. 300
Other Allowances
Other Allowances include Special Allowances, Compensatory Allowance, Risk Allowance, Non-practising Allowance, Additional Special Allowances, Permanent Travelling Allowance, and Permanent Conveyance Allowance in KTET Salary 2025. All candidates will receive their allowance rate based on their post-employment pay scale.
KTET Salary 2025 – In Hand
The salary for KTET-qualified teachers varies by post—Lower Primary (LPSA), Upper Primary (UPSA), and High School Assistant (HSA). These roles fall under different state pay levels and include various allowances. Here’s a breakdown of the updated structure:
