RRB ALP 2024: Recruitment Process

- First stage Computer Based Test (CBT)

RRB ALP 2024: Exam Pattern
Online objective-style papers make up both the first and second stages of the CBT for Assistant Loco Pilot positions at RRB. Four parts make up the first level of CBT, and you have sixty minutes to finish them. There are two components to the second CBT level. Part A consists of four parts totaling one hundred questions, which must be answered in ninety minutes. Part B will consist of 75 pertinent trade-related questions that must be answered in 60 minutes.

RRB ALP Exam Pattern- CBT 1
The 1st stage CBT for Assistant Loco Pilot posts is common and consists of 75 questions from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness on Current Affairs

RRB ALP Exam Pattern- CBT 2
The 2nd stage CBT for Assistant Loco Pilot posts has two steps: Part A and B. Part A has four subjects – Maths, Basic Science and Engineering, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness. Part B consists of questions from the relevant trade.

Computer-Based Aptitude Test (for Candidates who have opted for ALP)
To be eligible, applicants must receive at least 42 marks in each exam battery. Only applicants who pass the aptitude test will be included in the ALP merit list, with 30% going toward the marks from the computer-based aptitude test and 70% going toward the marks from Part A of the second stage of CBT.

The First Stage CBT Syllabus
a. Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
b. General Intelligence and Reasoning
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
c. General Science
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level.
d. General awareness on current affairs
General awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and other subjects of importance
Second Stage CBT Syllabus
Part A
a. Mathematics

Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Computer Based Aptitude Test is must for candidates who have opted for ALP. The candidate needs to secure a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and there will be no relaxation. The Computer Based Aptitude Test shall have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi. There shall be no negative marking in Computer Based Aptitude Test.
