Railway Recruitment Board conducts the national level recruitment examination for the recruitment to the post of Assistant Loco Pilot on a yearly basis as the opening comes up. The examination conducted by the board is usually a national-level examination where candidates who have the required eligibility can apply for the openings at various zones. Railway Recruitment Board Exam 2022: Overview

Railway Recruitment Board conducts the examination on a national basis to the recruitment for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot upon the opening formed. The examination conducted by the board is in online format and candidates have to attend object-type questions. Detailed exam analysis is done here.

  • No questions were from statements or arguments portion
  • 1 question from statement and conclusion
  • No questions for water image
  • Few questions over logical reasoning
  • No questions from Clock & Calendar
  • 5 questions from distance and direction
  • 1 question from counting line
  • 2 questions from blood relation
  • 2 questions from statements & assumption

General Knowledge

  • A total of 10 questions asked
  • 3 questions were current-affairs
  • The other 7 questions were general questions

Maths

  • No questions from the partnership
  • 2-3 questions from time & work
  • 2 age-based questions
  • 7-8 questions from area and volume analysis. Also, mensuration topics are present.
  • There were no questions from Algebra
  • 2 questions each from mean, median, mode & SI, CI

Basic Science & Engineering

  • 3 questions from projections
  • 1 question from instruments
  • 2 questions from lines
  • 3-4 questions from Heat & Temperature
  • 2-3 questions from basic electricity
  • 2 questions from occupational safety & health
  • 3 questions from mass, weight & density
  • 1 question from the unit, measurements and IT literacy5-6 questions from lever and machinery

RRB Examination Result

Railway Recruitment Board publishes the result of the Assistant Loco Pilot examination after 1 month of the commencement of the examination. Candidates who have appeared for the online examination can visit the official website of RRB and check the results there. Also after the online examination process, there is also an interview round for the candidates who have qualified for the first round.

RRB ALP Detailed Exam Details

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification

Candidates who wish to apply for the above-mentioned job position must be a 10th pass and possess ITI Certification (approved by NCVT / SCVT), or Diploma in Engineering.

  • Age Limit

18-30 years

The minimum age for a candidate to apply for the post is restricted to 18 and the maximum age is restricted to 30 years. (Candidates with reservation status are provided with certain age relaxation approved by the government upon submitting proof of reservation and age relaxation). Any kind of false information or data provided before the board will result in your application termination.

Details Regarding the Application Form

  • The candidate must enter all the necessary information asked by the recruiting body at the right places without any fail.
  • Name, age, address, educational qualification, Date of Birth, etc. has to be entered with utmost care and must be rechecked before submitting the application form.
  • Details that you enter in the application form must be true and should match with the original documents.
  • A scanned copy of the applicant’s passport size photo and signature must also be uploaded at the time of filling out the application form.
  • The application fee for the post can be made through the official payment gateway.
  • Candidates who fail to pay the fees will not be eligible for writing the examination.

For applying for RRB ALP examination there is an application fee of Rs. 100 the candidate has to pay through the payment gateway. (Payment methods and the details will be available on the official website as well as through the official notification)

The complete syllabus for the RRB ALP examination is been published by the Railway Recruitment Board through their official website along with the official notification. Here are the subjects and details that every candidate has to go through for the RRB ALP examination.

Syllabus for RRB ALP CBT 1

1 Mathematics Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern, etc.
2 General Intelligence and Reasoning Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions, etc.
3 General Science Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences of the 10th standard level.
4 General awareness & current affairs Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics.

There are two parts of the syllabus for the CBT 2 Exam.

The Assistant Loco Pilot CBT 2 syllabus is given below:

The CBT2 syllabus for the RRB ALP examination is different from that of the other examination syllabus. Candidates have to take a good look at the complete syllabus before start preparing. Also, candidates have to keep this information in mind while preparing for the exam.

  • Qualifying Marks for CBT 2 Part B is 35 % (This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible)
  • This part is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by the Director-General of Employment & Training (DGET).
  • Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualifications will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade.
  • Candidates holding Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP have to select relevant trade from the list of trades listed against their engineering discipline/HSC (10+2).
