The officers of the Central Police Organizations is recruited by the Staff Selection Commission, Every year SSC recruits hundreds towards the CPO services through the SSC CPO recruitment. The SSC CPO salary would be in pay scale -06 and these posts are non-gazette posts. Through SSC CPO recruitment candidates would be selected to either of the three posts;
- Sub Inspector in Delhi Police
- Sub Inspector in Central Armed Police Service, and
- Assistant Sub Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force.
The CAPF is a paramilitary force under the Central Home Ministry. The CAPF family includes 06 different departments:
- Border Security Force (BSF)
- Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)
- Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)
- Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB), and
- Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)
The Sub Inspectors in Delhi police will be posted in Delhi and they are responsible for the law and order in the Union Territory. While all other services are all India services and posting would be anywhere in India.
SSC CPO Salary 2024
The all three groups in SSC CPO are under Non-Gazette positions and the salary would be in Pay level-06. The Sub Inspector in Delhi Police(Male/ Female) and Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) in CISF are Grade C positions while Sub Inspector in CAPF is a Grade B, Non-Gazetted post. The SSC CPO Salary (in hand) may vary depends upon the posting centre and department.

SSC CPO Allowances 2024
The selected candidates will get the following allowances along with their basic pay. The allowances are:
- House Rent Allowance(HRA)
- Dearness Allowances (DA)
- Transport Allowances
- Ration Money
- Children Education Allowances
- Uniform Allowances
The House rent allowance(HRA) will depend upon your posting centre. The minimum entitled HRA for class X, Y & Z cities is Rs. 5400/- pm, Rs. 3600/- pm and Rs.1800/- pm respectively. The HRA would be 24%, 16% and 8% of the Basic pay for X, Y and Z class cities respectively.
The Dearness Allowance is 12% of Basic Pay under the 7th Pay Commission.
The transport allowances also vary with the posting centre. In the cities, it would be Rs. 3600 + and for all other places, the TA will be not less than Rs. 1800+.
The Diet allowance or the ration allowance is Rs 101.5 in Delhi Police. Ration money of Rs.97.85/ per head per day is available for the SI in CISF services.
Children Education Allowance of Rs. 27000/- per annum is available for children studying class Nursery to class XII. CEA also increases with an increase in DA. A Hostel subsidy of Rs.81000/- per annum for children studying in the hostel is also available.
Every year the officers will get Rs. 10000/ as uniform allowances.
Along with all these allowances around Rs. 5000 will get deducted from the monthly salary for pf, and insurance.
The in-hand salary of the Sub Inspector in the Delhi Police is around Rs. 44000/ and for SI in CAPF and ASI in CISF the salary would be in the range of Rs.31000 to Rs. 39000.

- 800-metre race in 4 minutes
- Long Jump- 2.7 metres in 3 chances
- High Jump- 0.9 metres in 3 chances
PST/ PET will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying nature and compulsory.
