SSC CPO Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2026

SSC CPO Physical Test 2026

Clearing the written examination is only one part of SSC CPO selection. Candidates who qualify in the required stage must also clear the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Endurance Test (PET).

The PST checks physical measurements such as height and chest. The PET assesses physical endurance through running, jumping, and shot put. These tests are qualifying in nature and do not carry separate marks.

SSC CPO Physical Standards 2026

The required physical standards vary by post, gender, and category.

For example, the standard height for most male candidates is 170 cm. Certain categories receive relaxation under the prescribed rules. For most female candidates, the minimum height is 157 cm.

For CAPF posts, the standard height is also 170 cm for most male candidates and 157 cm for most female candidates. Specific relaxations are available for eligible categories.

For SI (Fire) in CISF, the standard height for most male candidates is 170 cm. The required chest measurement is 81 cm unexpanded and 86 cm expanded. Relaxations apply to specified categories.

SSC CPO PET Requirements 2026

The Physical Endurance Test includes different requirements for male and female candidates.

There is no minimum chest measurement for female candidates.

SSC CPO Medical Examination 2026

Candidates who qualify in Paper-II are called for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME). The examination is conducted by authorised medical officers or eligible government medical professionals.

The medical stage is also qualifying in nature. Candidates found unfit during DME may undergo a Review Medical Examination (RME).

Candidates qualifying in Paper-II are shortlisted for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

How Is Final Selection Made?

Final selection is not based simply on clearing every stage. The notification states that final selection and post or force allocation are based on Paper-II performance, including applicable NCC bonus marks, and the post/force preferences submitted by candidates.
