SSC CPO Eligibility Criteria
Before applying to the post of SSC CPO we need to check if we are eligible to the post. Let us check in detail the following four areas that has to be satisfied before we consider eligible to the post
- Nationality
- Age Limit
- Qualification
- Physical Qualification
Nationality
The candidate must be either a
- Citizen of India
- A subject of Nepal
- A subject of Bhutan
Note: For candidates other than citizen of India and falling under the rest of categories mentioned above has to present a certificate of eligibility by Government of India.
Age Limit
The minimum age to apply for SSC CPO is 20 years and the maximum age is 25 years.
The following is the age relaxation provided for different categories.

Educational Qualification
The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University. Candidates applying for the post of Sub- Inspector in Delhi Police should have a valid driving license whereas driving license is not mandatory for candidates applying for all other posts under CAPFs.
SSC CPO 2020 Selection Process
The SSC CPO Exam Pattern consists of the following stages:
- Written Examination – Paper I
- Physical Standard Test / Physical Efficiency Examination (Qualifying in nature)
- Written Examination – Paper II
- Medical Examination Test
- Document Verification
- Final selection

For male candidates only:
- 100 metre race in 16 seconds
- 6 km race in 6.5 minutes
- Long Jump: 3.65 metre in 3 chances
- High Jump: 1.2 metre in 3 chances
- Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metre in 3 chance
For female candidates only:
- 100 metre race in 18 seconds
- 800 metre race in 4 minutes
- Long Jump: 2.7 metre in 3 chances
- High Jump: 0.9 metre in 3 chances.
Note:
- There shall be no minimum requirement of chest measurement for female candidates.
- PST/ PET will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying/ elimination nature.
- Those candidates who are declared not qualified in Physical Standards, i.e. height and chest, can send an appeal to the appellate authority present on the PET/ PST ground. The decision of the appellate authority will be final.
Medical standard Eligibility (For all posts):
All the candidates who qualify in Paper-2 will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer.
The following are the eligibility criteria to clear the medical test.
- The minimum near vision should be N6 (better eye) and N9 (worse eye).
- The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 (better eye) and 6/9 (worse eye).
- The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes.
- The candidate should possess high colour vision.
- Eye standards should be without visual correction of any kind even by glasses
