Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI) has released notification that it is looking forward to recruiting candidates who are officers holding regular position in the Central Government, State Governments, Union Territories, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, Semi–Government, Statutory or Autonomous Organizations on transfer on deputation (including short-term contract) on foreign service terms basis. The recruitment will be for the post of Director and Joint Director. Applications must be submitted online through the official website of FSSAI – http://www.fssai.gov.in/. The last date for online application and submission of hard copy of online application through proper channel is 22 February 2022.

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Vacancies

According to the notification released by FSSAI, there is 1 vacancy for the post of Director for technical and 2 vacancies for the post of Joint Director. From among these two posts, one will be for technical and the other for legal. The candidates will initially be recruited for three years. Based on their performance during this period, they will be eligible for extension for the next term.

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Only those applicants who fulfil the eligibility criteria and have the required experience will be considered by the FSSAI. Hence it is mandatory that the applicants go through the eligibility criteria to know where he / she stands.

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Age Limit

The maximum age limit of the candidate shall be 56 years as on 22 February 2022, that is the last date for receiving applications.

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the post of Director should have any one of the following educational qualifications:

1. Bachelors Degree from a recognized University or Institution. Degree of Law or MBA degree or equivalent from a recognized university or Institution is desirable.

2. Masters Degree from a recognized University or Institution in any of the following:

Chemistry
Biochemistry
Food Technology
Edible Oil Technology
Food Science & Technology
Microbiology
Food & Nutrition
Dairy Technology
Agricultural or Horticultural Sciences

4. BE or B. Tech in any one of the following:

5. Bachelor’s degree ( of not less than four years duration) in Medicine or Veterinary sciences or Fisheries or

The candidates applying for the Joint Director post should have any one of the following qualifications:

1. Full time Degree of Law from a recognized University or institution with twelve years experience of handling legal matters or working experience as Law Officer in a reputed Government or Autonomous body or Research Institutions or Universities or Public Sector Undertakings or Law firms.

2. Masters Degree from a recognized University or Institution in any one of the following:

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Job Experience

The candidates aspiring to apply for the post of Director should have any one of the following experience:

They should have experience holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
Five years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment on a regular basis in Pay Level 12 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department with relevant experience.

The candidates aspiring to apply for the post of Joint Director should have any one of the following experience:

Experience holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department.
Five years regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in Pay Level 11 or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Salary

The post wise salary as announced by the FSSAI will be as follows:

Director: Rs. 123100 – Rs. 215900 under Pay Level 13
Joint Director: Rs 78800 – Rs 209200 under Pay Level 12

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Application Fee

The application fee for the FSSAI recruitment is mentioned in the official notification. The application fee for different categories are as follows:

Candidates belonging to the General/ OBC category: Rs 1000
Candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/ EWS/ Women/ Ex-servicemen/ PwD: Rs 500

The candidates should remit the fees online at the time of the submission of the application form.

FSSAI Recruitment 2022 Application Process

Once the applicants are sure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria set by FSSAI, they can submit their applications. Applications have to be submitted through the link provided in the official website. The hard copy of the online application form duly certified by the employer along with the required documents must be sent through proper channel to the following address: Assistant Director (Recruitment), FSSAI, FDA Bhawan, Kotla Road, New Delhi.

The documents required are Certificate by employer/Cadre Controlling Authority in the prescribed format from the employer, certificates/ documents such as Integrity certificate, vigilance clearance, Major/Minor penalty imposed during the last ten years and duly certified photocopies of APARs for the last 5 years.
