About the Role
HSBC is seeking fresh graduates to join its Talent Acquisition team as apprentices for a period of 12 months. The position will support the Sourcing function and involve working closely with HR professionals and business leaders across the organisation.
The selected apprentice will contribute to Talent Acquisition activities and support the delivery of sourcing assignments. These assignments may include Executive Search, talent mapping and pooling, succession planning, and recruitment for open positions.

The Intern – Talent Acquisition apprentice may be responsible for:
- Supporting sourcing assignments, including Executive Search, talent mapping and pooling, succession planning, and open roles.
- Sourcing, screening, and talent pooling candidates through internal databases, LinkedIn, external job boards, and open web searches.
- Developing and implementing sourcing plans for specific assignments.
- Contributing to the development and effectiveness of HSBC’s proactive sourcing capability.
- Drafting offer letters and managing onboarding activities.
- Supporting recruiters with operational hiring activities.
- Initiating and monitoring pre-employment vetting by coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
- Tracking market trends, competitor analysis, and regional changes relevant to business stakeholders.
- Designing and implementing recruitment campaigns for key hiring drives.
- Working with Resourcing Specialists and hiring managers from market research and job briefing through to interviews and offer management.
- Defining the Employer Value Proposition for assigned recruitment activities.
- Ensuring that the metrics associated with deliverables are achieved.
- Providing input to the Talent Acquisition Leadership Team on key aspects of the function.
- Helping HSBC use its HR tools, resources, and recruitment tactics to engage talent.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the HSBC Talent Acquisition apprenticeship must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a graduation or post-graduation qualification.
- Be a Bachelor’s degree holder from a University Grants Commission (UGC)-recognised university.
- Possess the mark sheets and provisional or degree certificate confirming completion of the qualification.
- Be a fresh graduate who completed their Bachelor’s degree within the last 0–5 years.
- Not have completed a government-regulated apprenticeship previously.
- Have basic knowledge of full-cycle recruiting and sourcing.
- Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Possess excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Have professional presentation skills and the ability to present to senior-level stakeholders.
- Be culturally diverse and aware, with the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and languages.

Apprenticeship Information
The apprenticeship tenure will be one year, as defined under the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended from time to time.
All apprentices engaged by the bank will be featured on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal as apprentices. A candidate profile will be created for each apprentice on the NATS portal and will be available for viewing.
After completing the one-year apprenticeship tenure, the apprentice will receive a Certificate of Proficiency from the Government of India, where applicable under the Act. Enrolment under the Apprenticeship Act will end after completion of the apprenticeship tenure.
Other terms and conditions related to the apprenticeship will be provided in the offer letter issued by HSBC at the time of joining.

The role requires the apprentice to perform duties in a professional capacity, using independent judgement, discretion, and decision-making authority where applicable. Responsibilities may include planning, organising, directing work, supervising and appraising team members, and taking accountability for delivery outcomes.
The apprentice may also represent HSBC before internal and external stakeholders, allocate and prioritise work, provide direction and feedback, manage team capacity, and manage leave in line with applicable policies.
