On August 19, 2020, the Union government decided to conduct, a National level Common Eligibility Test (CET) for all public recruitments. To conduct this Common Eligibility Test (CET) for all competitive examinations a new National Recruitment Agency (NRA) will be set up. NRA Common Eligibility Test will use to recruit candidates towards non-gazetted posts in the central government and public sector banks. The proposal for the National Recruitment Agency and CET was first introduced in the Union Budget 2020. The government has recently updated the tentative NRA CET 2021 exam date.
NRA CET 2021 Exam Date
The Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Sing in a reply in LokSabha on Monday that NRA is expected to conduct Common Eligibility Test from September 2021 onwards. At least 2.5 crore job aspirants are likely to benefit from this common entrance test (CET) exam to be organised by the National Recruitment Agency for various government departments to fill up vacant posts. To start with, three of the over 20 Central government recruitment agencies would be brought under the NRA. They are:
- Staff Selection Commission
- Railway Recruitment Board, and
- Institute of Banking, and Personnel Selection
The preliminary test for the RRB, SSC, and IBPS would be conducted by the NRA. Based on their performances the candidates can use their scores from this CET to apply to the individual agencies for the next round. Gradually all Central government recruitment agencies would be brought under this National Recruitment Agency. The above given NRA CET 2021 exam date is tentative only. Recently, Madya Pradesh government has also announced that M.P state recruiting agencies are going to use the score of the CET 2021 to select candidates for the state service jobs.
