UPSC CAPF AC Salary 2021
The Assistant Commandant rank in any of the CAPF is equivalent to the ranks of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), or the Captain in the Indian Army. Being a Group-A gazetted officer rank in the Central Armed Police Forces of India, they are called directly appointed gazetted officers. Periodically, the Union Public Service Commission recruits hundreds of eligible male and female graduates to various Central Armed Police Forces, as Assistant Commandants through open recruitment. Services like Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) relies on this UPSC CAPF recruitment to find their Assistant Commandants. CAPF Promotion Path
With 5 years of continuous service as Assistant Commandant, one can appear for the promotion and can move to the Deputy Commandant position. From this position, one can further progress to the Second-In-Commandant after 5 years as Deputy Commandant (with a total of 10 years Group ‘A’ service).
