UPSC CAPF AC Vacancy 2021

The Central Armed Police Force under the central Home Ministry was formed to assist the Police to tackle Law and Order, Counter-Terrorist Operations, Counter Naxal Operations, etc. Today the CAPF is consist of 07 uniform services. Every year the Union Public Service Commission conducts the Assistant Commandant/ Assistant Commandant (Officer Trainee) recruitment to hire directly appointed gazetted officers. Both male and female graduates can appear for the UPSC CAPF recruitment if they satisfy all other criteria. For the screening, the commission (UPSC) will conduct a written exam followed by the Physical Test, Medical Test and Document Verification. Based on the candidate’s choices, and their merit in the screening they will get assigned to any of the CAPF services. A newly appointed Assistant Commandant (AC) in any of the CAPF services will be on the gazetted rank with Group A service on the basic pay of Rs. 57800. They also get entitled to various allowances based on the service and the posting location.

Assam Rifles are entitled to the maintenance of law and order in the North East and also guards the Indo-Myanmar border in the region. Assam Rifles is the only paramilitary force with a dual control structure. While the operational control is with the Indian Army, its administrative control of the force is with the Home Ministry. So the selection to the same is either through the deputation or by the departmental tests.

• Reservation will be given effect to as per the Union Government policy
• 10% of the vacancies are set aside for ex-servicemen
