The Union Public Service Commission conducts the UPSC CAPF AC recruitment to find eligible graduates to join any of the five Central Armed Police Forces in the Assistant Commandant rank. The Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) includes uniform services like Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). With the written tests and physical tests, selected candidates can join the service in gazetted rank with Group A service on the basic pay of Rs. 57800.
