Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has the official notification for the post of Indian Forest Service (IFS) Prelims 2021 through official website. Candidates who were preparing for the UPSC IFS 2021 can apply for the post till 24th March 2021. A total 110 vacancies are announced in this recruitment. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions.

UPSC IFS 2021 Selection Process

As the part of Civil Services Indian Forest Service 2021 selection process, the applicants are required to go through Preliminary examination and Main Examination. The preliminary exam will be Objective in type and the Mains Exam consists of a Written examination and an Interview Process.

UPSC IFS (Indian Forest Services) 2021 Exam Pattern

• The preliminary Examination will consist of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions) and carry a maximum of 400 marks.
• The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates will not be calculated in the Final Merit List, it is considered as the screening rank list.
• The Main Examination will consist of a written examination and an interview test.
• The written examination will consist of 6 papers of conventional essay type.
• The final interview will carry 300 marks.
• And thus the marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination (both written and interview) would determine their final ranking.
