If you are a UPSC Indian Forest Service (IFS) candidate, you should be aware that there are no shortcuts to passing the civil services interview. It is necessary to pass the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Interview before being selected for the civil service. The interview questions are always difficult. Candidates who have made it to the interview stage after overcoming the arduous task of passing the UPSC prelims and mains can be asked anything. As a result, students should prepare thoroughly for the interview. Following the UPSC preliminary examination, candidates begin preparing for the mains. An opportunity for an interview arises only after passing the mains exams. As a result, after putting in so much effort, students should not show up to the interview unprepared. This article on UPSC IFS Interview Tips 2021 will provide you with information that will help you clear the interview.

UPSC IFS Interview Tips 2021

The Preliminary Exam is the first step in the Selection Process, followed by the Application Process. The Prelims will be held offline and will consist of two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Candidates whose names appear on the Prelims cut-off list will be eligible for the Mains Exam after the Prelims Result is announced. The Mains Exam will then consist of six papers with a qualifying score of 1400 marks, allowing candidates to sit for the UPSC Personality Test or Interview Round. The UPSC IFS Selection Process has reached its final round or stage. The combined marks from the Mains and the Interview round will constitute the Selection Process’s Final Result.

Update Yourself About Current Affairs

During the interview, you may be asked about current events. Civil service exams are designed to assess an aspirant’s in-depth knowledge of the society in which he or she lives. It is a common misconception among candidates that they should be well-versed in international affairs. Although knowledge of international events is required, knowing one’s own village, district, state, and country should be regarded as the foundation for one’s preparation. This is extremely beneficial in terms of serving one’s country.

Concentrate on Personality and Communication Skills

One of the most important aspects of the examination is the interview. It is critical that you communicate your ideas clearly to the interviewers. As a result, concentrate on honing your communication skills and body language. Some candidates are endowed with such abilities. And some people need to practice a lot in order to become excellent communicators of their ideas. Candidates who lack communication skills can approach those who have already taken the civil services exams for useful advice.

Be Honest During the Interview

The interview portion of the civil services exams is not intended to assess one’s knowledge of a subject. However, a candidate must speak from the heart or honestly answer all questions. There is a widespread misconception among candidates that telling lies about their hobbies in order to pass the interview will never help them. The interviewers are there not only to ask questions, but also to assess a candidate’s personality and ability to understand that a “no” is a “no” and cannot be replaced with a “yes” and vice versa. As a result, you must be yourself and face the exam and interview honestly.

Develop the Habit Of Reading Newspapers

When applying for civil service exams, it is advised to read newspapers on a regular basis. It is strongly advised to read English newspapers. However, it is critical for civil service exam candidates to read English as well as regional language newspapers. The goal here is to be well-informed rather than to learn only a few things. One newspaper may provide a news item with limited information, whereas another may provide a news item with extensive details.
