Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is a cricket team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the beginning of the match in 2008. CSK Team Profile 2022
Chennai Super Kings lost by six wickets in the opening game of IPL 2022 against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR were led by skipper Shreyas Iyer who gave the team a winning start. KKR had won the toss and selected to ball first . CSK built up a score of 131/5 at the end of 20 overs, played a 70-run partnership between MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. It was MS Dhoni’s 24th half century in IPL. Ajinkya Rahane led the KKR batting, top-scoring with 44 runs and later skipper Shreyas Iyer and Sam Billings saw their team through.

MS Dhoni hit 7 fours and 1 six in his 50-run innings. He also won the RuPay On-The-Go 4s of the Match, whereas Robin Uthappa won the Unacademy Let’s Crack It Sixes of the Match. Uttappa also secured the Punch Super Striker of the Day for the Match title and Dwayne Bravo secured Dream11 GameChanger of the Match title.

The Chennai Super Kings next match will be against the new IPL team Lucknow Super Giants on March 31st at 7.30 pm at Brabourne – CCI stadium. After beating KKR in the IPL 2021 final match by 27 runs, Chennai Super KIngs are the defending champions. The team is now led by a new captain in the form of all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. MS Dhoni resigned from his captaincy and entrusted the responsibility to Jadeja. Eventhough MS Dhoni will continue to be a part of CSK’s playing XI.
The four-time IPL Champions have tried to hold on to their main squad with the exception of a few and has added some new members in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. CSK’s determination to keep up its main squad had set of a huge auction fight for Deepak Chahar, which finally came to an end by CSK signing him up for an amount of Rs 14 crore.

CSK Captain 2022
All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been a main part of CSK since 2012. He will now lead the Chennai Super Kings. He will be the only third player to lead CSK. Dhoni’s resignation from CSK captaincy is being designated as the end of an era. Authority hopes that this will permit a smooth transformation from old to new and give Jadeja the chance to work with the direction of one of the best captains ever, MS Dhoni as he is still playing for the team.
