The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization which is commonly called EPFO conducts the recruitment examination every year. The purpose of the exam is to recruit aspirants for the post of Social Security Assistants. The job of a Social Security Assistant is proper maintenance of data EPFO SSA needs to support the higher officials by providing regular details and data related to employee provident funds. EPFO SSA is also responsible for resolving and recording the queries of the officers.

EPFO SSA Exam Analysis

An analysis of any exam is an important weapon to crack the exam. It not only gives an overview of the examination it gives an idea about how to proceed with the preparation process. The candidates must therefore give importance to the exam analysis and take notes accordingly. The previous exam analysis enables the candidates to understand the exam nature and topics asked. It further facilitates knowing the difficulty level of the exam.

Listed below is the analysis of the EPFO examination curated by experts and exam coaches. The reviews are made section wise.

Section I – Reasoning/Intelligence

  • According to the feedbacks given the overall level of the reasoning section was of moderate level.
  • A total of 40 questions were asked from different topics.

 Details of  the Topic: 

  • Inequality: A total of 5 questions were asked from this section.
  • Numeric Series:  5 questions from the topic of numeric series were asked.
  • Syllogism: Based on this topic a total of 5 questions were asked.
  • Logical Reasoning: No questions were asked from this section
  • Data Sufficiency: 3 questions based on Data Sufficiency
  • Puzzles and seat arrangement: A total of five questions were asked from this section.
    • The circular puzzle contained question sets.
    • There was a puzzle based on schedule and had 5 sub-questions in it.
    • Another puzzle was floor-based.

Section II – General/Economy/Financial Awareness

  • A total of 40 questions were asked in the General/Economy/Financial Awareness sections
  • This section was in a moderate level of difficulty.

 Details of the Topic:

  • Current Affairs: The majority of the questions were asked from this section. A span from the last five months.
  • General Knowledge: Few general knowledge-based questions were asked.
  • Static: Questions based on static were asked.
  • Banking Awareness: 4-5 questions from this section were found in the paper.
  • Summits: Few questions based on these topics were also asked.

Section III – English Language

  • The English language section was easy.
  • The paper was attemptable by a maximum number of students.

Details of the Topic:

  • Sentence Rearrangement: A total of 5 questions were asked from this topic, where option C was fixed. and the questions of this were easy
  • Error Spotting: There were no questions about error spotting.
  • Cloze Test:  4-5 questions of the Cloze Test were asked.
  • Single Fillers: 3-4 questions of single fillers were seen in the paper.
  • Word usage: A total of 4 questions of word usage were asked.
  • Match the column: 5 questions were asked from this topic.
  • Reading Comprehension: Only one Reading Comprehensions were asked in the paper, based on the environment and around 8-9 questions were asked from the passage.

Section IV – Quantitative Aptitude

  • The Quantitative aptitude section comprises a total of 40 questions.
  • The section was of moderate level.

Details of the Topic:

  • Data Interpretation: There were 3 questions asked from the data interpretation section.
  • Number series: A total of 5 questions were based on number series.
  • Miscellaneous Questions: A total of 9-10 questions on Arithmetic topics were asked.
  • Approximation: There were 5 questions on approximation and was of easy level.

Section V – Descriptive Test

  • English Language test was of qualifying nature
  • The marks obtained in the English Language will not be counted for the merit list.
  • The total marks assigned for this section is 25
  • A time limit of 30 minutes.
  •  The minimum qualifying mark is 10.

Details of the Topic:

  • Letter Writing: The candidates must write a letter on any one of the given topics. (150 words)
  • Precise Writing: Candidates must write an essay in 90 words.
  • Comprehension: There was a passage based on the theme of ‘ climate change ‘ and candidates had to answer 5 questions based on the passage in written form.

EPFO SSA Exam – Good Attempts

The good attempts of EPFO SSA exam are as follows:

  • General Awareness – Marks around 28 and must be scored for a good result.
  • Reasoning Ability – Marks around 30 and must be scored for a good result.
  • Quantitative Aptitude – Marks around 30 and must be scored for a good result.
  • English Language – Marks around 28 and must be scored for a good result.
