The preliminary examination for the Range Forest Officer was held on 20th June 2021 and the eligibility list for the Mains examination was updated on the website on 30th July 2021. A total of 1688 candidates are appearing for the Mains examination. The Gujarat Public Service Commission Range Forest Officer, Class-2 selection posts to the Forest and Environment Department, notification was released on November 2020, against 51 posts.

• Firstly, visit the https://gpsc.gujarat.gov.in/default.aspx. The candidate should ensure stable internet, prior to downloading the admit card.
• Now, select the Download Call Letter, menu.
• Click on the ‘Click here to Download Call Letter for Main Exam / PET-PST’, menu.
• Else, candidates can directly log on to the OJAS Gujarat @https://gpsc-ojas.gujarat.gov.in/
• On the new page, select the job RFO, confirmation number, and date of birth.
• Submit this information to download the GPSC RFO admit card 2021.
• Download and take a printout of the RFO admit card, as it is a necessity to document to appear for the examination.

In case of facing any error or issues while downloading admit card, or in case of any missing details or errors in the Range Forest Officer, Class-2 admit card, the candidates must immediately report the same to the board and request for re-issuance of the same.

GPSC RFO Mains Exam Pattern

The post of RFO is a Tehsildar or Deputy Superintendent of Police Level officer. He/she should be responsible for the discipline, conduct, and work of their designated range or area. Range Forest Officer is also in charge of collecting of Forest Revenue, Protection of his/her Forest Range from timber smugglers, and management of the Forest Produces. The candidate’s selection is through Preliminary Objective Exam, Main Exam (Subjective in nature), Physical Test/ Medical Test, and Document Verification with Viva- Voce. The final merit list preparation will be based on the Mains Examination Marks and the Personal Interview Marks. The candidates included in the final selection list will be having 18 months of training at Forest Officer Training Academy. Then, only those successfully completing the training will be scheduled to their respective forest ranges to serve for the State Forest Department or National Forest Department. The salary of RFO will be equivalent to a Gazetted Officer.
