ISRO Scientist Selection Process 2025 – Step-by-Step Guide

Aspiring to join the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a Scientist/Engineer? Understanding the selection procedure is crucial to your preparation. ISRO follows a two-tier process that includes a written examination and a personal interview, with equal weightage given to both stages for final selection.

Stage 1: Written Test

The first stage of assessment is a national-level written exam conducted across 11 major cities including Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and others. ISRO may shift candidates to different venues if required. Admit cards will be sent to applicants through their registered email IDs.

Written Exam Structure

• Duration: 120 minutes
• Question Type: Objective-type MCQs
• Sections:

• • Part A – Discipline-Specific Section

    • 80 MCQs based on core engineering subjects relevant to the candidate’s discipline (Electronics, Mechanical, or Computer Science).

    • Each question carries 1 mark.

• Multiple Posts Allowed: Candidates can apply for more than one discipline. However, a common test center must be selected for all applications.
• Separate Fee Payment: Each application requires an individual payment. Submitting fees for one post won’t apply to others.
• Unique Registration Number: Once the application is submitted, a registration number will be generated. This should be saved for all future correspondence.
