ISRO Scientist Eligibility Criteria 2025
Go through the Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for ISRO Scientist/Engineer posts, along with important notes on CGPA and percentage calculations:
Educational Qualification & GATE Requirement
Post | Qualification Required | Valid GATE Paper Code |
---|---|---|
Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ (Electronics) | BE/B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering with minimum 65% marks (avg. all semesters) or CGPA 6.84/10 | Electronics & Communication (EC) |

Important Notes on Eligibility and CGPA/Percentage
- Graduation Duration: The degree must be completed within the stipulated time as per the University rules.
- Allied Disciplines: Some allied branches of engineering are acceptable as per the FAQs (official guidelines).
- CGPA vs Percentage:
-
If both CGPA and percentage are mentioned on the certificate or mark sheet, either one should meet ISRO’s eligibility criteria.
-
If only CGPA is mentioned, it must meet the eligibility criteria.
-
Conversion of CGPA to percentage is NOT allowed for eligibility determination, even if the university provides a conversion formula.
-
The same rule applies when only percentage is mentioned.
-
Dual/Integrated Degree Programmes
Scenario | Eligibility Calculation |
---|---|
Separate CGPA/Percentage for Graduation and Post-Graduation mentioned | Only CGPA/Percentage for the Graduation level will be considered. |
Single CGPA/Percentage applicable for entire course of study | The final CGPA/Percentage mentioned for the entire course will be considered. |
University does not provide CGPA/Percentage in Dual/Integrated Degree certificate | The cumulative CGPA/Percentage from the final consolidated mark sheet will be considered. |
Whether or not a conversion formula is prescribed by the University | The above criteria apply uniformly, regardless of any conversion formulas. |
