Kerala PSC Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) Vacancy 2026
Kerala PSC has notified one (1) vacancy for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) in the Kerala State Housing Board under Category No. 074/2026. In addition to the notified vacancy, appointments may also be made against vacancies reported during the validity of the ranked list, which will remain in force for a minimum of one year and up to three years, as per Kerala PSC rules.
Kerala PSC Assistant Executive Engineer (Electrical) Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Age & Qualification
Age Limit
Candidates must be 18–40 years, born between 02.01.1986 and 01.01.2008 (both dates included). Other Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates get usual age relaxation as per general rules.
There’s also a special age relaxation for provisional hands already working in the Housing Board — they get relaxation equal to their provisional service period, capped at a maximum of 5 years above the upper age limit, provided they had at least one year of provisional service and were within the prescribed age limit at their first appointment. This concession is not available to those already holding regular posts in the organization.
Educational & Experience Qualification
- A degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering from a UGC-recognized university, a Central Government institute, or a Government of Kerala institution (or equivalent).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as Assistant Engineer (Electrical) or an equivalent rank in a Government/Quasi-Government/Public Sector Undertaking or a registered private sector undertaking.
Important notes on qualification:
- Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II of KS&SSR applies.
- Equivalent qualifications recognized via Executive/Standing Orders of the Government, or accepted by the Commission, are also valid — supporting government orders must be produced when asked.
- Experience must be acquired after obtaining the basic academic qualification, and before the last date of application.
- The experience certificate must strictly follow the prescribed format (given in the notification) and must be uploaded at the time of application — otherwise the application will be rejected outright. The certificate needs two parts: one from the employer/institution, and an attestation from an authorized officer confirming the details from statutory registers.

Step 1: One Time Registration (OTR)
Candidates must first complete One Time Registration on the official KPSC website, www.keralapsc.gov.in. Already-registered candidates simply log in with their User-ID and Password.
Step 2: Applying for the Post
- Log into your profile and click “Apply Now” against this specific notification.
- Ensure your profile photo has the candidate’s name and date of photo clearly printed at the bottom. A properly uploaded photo remains valid for 10 years; new OTR profiles need a photo taken within the last 6 months.
- No application fee is required.
- Aadhaar card holders should add Aadhaar as ID proof in their profile.
- Double-check all profile details before final submission — applications cannot be edited or deleted after submission.
- Save a soft copy/printout of your application (available anytime via “My Applications” in your profile) for future reference and correspondence with the Commission.
Step 3: Confirmation for Written/OMR/Online Test (if applicable)
If a written, OMR, or online test forms part of the selection, candidates must submit a confirmation to write the exam through their OTR profile within the stipulated window. Only those who confirm can generate and download admit cards — available only in the last 15 days before the test date. Failing to confirm in time leads to automatic rejection of the application. Exact dates for confirmation and admit card availability are published in the exam calendar and notified via profile/registered mobile number.
Step 4: Document Verification
- If, at any stage, a candidate receives a profile message asking them to upload documents proving qualification/other claims, this must be done within the given timeframe — failure means exclusion from the next stage.
- If there’s a mismatch between the caste/community mentioned in the application and the SSLC book, the candidate must produce a Gazette notification regarding the discrepancy, along with a Non-Creamy Layer/Community certificate at the time of verification.
- Original documents (qualification, experience, age, community, etc.) must be produced whenever the Commission calls for them.
Step 5: Ranked List & Validity
- The ranked list published pursuant to this notification remains valid for a minimum of 1 year and maximum of 3 years from the date it comes into force — unless superseded earlier by a new ranked list after the 1-year mark.
- Candidates will be advised against the notified vacancy and any further vacancies reported during the list’s currency.
Step 6: Post-Selection Process
- KPSC retains the power to cancel an advice of appointment if later found to be made in error. In such cases, the appointing authority must terminate the candidate’s service within the probation period or 240 days from joining, whichever is earlier.
