Kerala PSC Overseer/Draftsman Grade II Eligibility Criteria 2024

All the aspirants with the below-mentioned eligibility shall apply for the Draftsman/Overseer Grade 2 (008/2024) post in the Public Works/Irrigation department under the Kerala Government.

Educational Qualification

• Must possess any of the following qualifications
• Group Certificates under K.G.T.E or equivalent Examination.

Note: Group Certificates will include all the four groups viz. Building Drawing, Building Construction, Survey and Irrigation.

OR

• A pass in eight subjects, namely
• Surveying and Levelling (Higher)
• Applied Mechanics (Higher)
• Building Material and Construction (Higher)
• Hydraulics and Irrigation (Higher)
• Building Drawing and Estimating (Higher)
• Earth Work and Road Making (Higher)
• Geometrical Drawing (Lower) or Practical Plane and Solid Geometry(Lower)

AND

• Mensuration (Lower)
• Diploma in Craftsmanship in the trade of ‘Draftsman (Civil)’ or’Surveyor’ obtained after 18 months course (followed by 6 months practical training) at the Industrial Training Institutes/Centres conducted by the Government of India, Ministry of Labour.

Guidelines

• Candidates who have successfully completed the Industrial Training of 18 months will also be treated as qualified even if they have not completed the period of practical training. But their appointments will be treated as provisional and will be regularised only after the completion of six months practical training.
• Diploma in Craftsmanship (Trade test certificate) in the trade of Draftsman (Civil) awarded to private candidates without insisting on six months practical training will be treated as an alternative qualification for direct recruitment to the post of II Grade Draftsman.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering (2 years course) of the Women’s Polytechnics of the State.

Age Limit

• 18-36 Years
• Only candidates born between 02.01.1988 and 01.01.2006 (both dates included) are eligible to apply for this post. Other backward Communities and SC/ST candidates are eligible for usual age relaxation.

Other Guidelines

• In addition to the qualifications prescribed in the notification, the qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of Government as equivalent to a qualification specified for a post, in the Special Rules or found acceptable by the Commission in cases where acceptance of equivalent qualifications is provided for in the rules and such of those qualifications which pre-suppose the acquisition of the lower qualification prescribed for the post, shall also be sufficient for the post. The copy of the Government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications shall be produced as and when required by the Commission.’
• The Degrees/Diplomas awarded by UGC approved Universities or Institutions established through an Act passed by Parliament/State Legislative Assembly in accordance with the conditions laid down in G.O (M.S) No.526/PD dated 17.07.1965 are acceptable for appointment in Government Services

How to Apply for Kerala PSC Draftsman/Overseer Recruitment 2024?

Before applying for the post of  Draftsman/Overseer Grade 2 in the Public Works/Irrigation department, candidates must register themselves through the ‘ONE TIME REGISTRATION’ in the official portal of Kerala PSC. All the candidates who have already registered using the OTR, can follow the simple steps to submit the application.

• First of all, log in to the profile using the User ID and password of the candidate.

Advice for beginners when uploading photos

• The photo to be uploaded can be in Color/ black and white.
• The face and shoulder of the candidate should be clearly visible
• Photo should be of 200 pixels height and 150 pixels width
• The file size should not exceed 30kb and it should be in JPG format
• The background of the photo should be either light-colored or white in color
• The eyes should be open
• Face should be centrally focused
• Photograph wearing cap goggles, (except cap, veil worn in adherence to religious custom), photographs showing a portion of the face, photo with unclear face shall not be accepted.

Kerala PSC Draftsman/Overseer Application 2024 Guidelines

• Candidates who have AADHAAR Card should add AADHAAR as ID Proof in their profile
• If written/OMR/Online Test is conducted as part of this selection, candidates shall submit a confirmation for writing the examination through their One Time Registration Profile.
• Such candidates alone can generate and download the Admission Tickets in the last 15 days till the date of Test.
• The applications of candidates who do not submit confirmation within the stipulated period, will be rejected absolutely.
• Appropriate disciplinary action as per Rule 22 of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure shall be initiated against those candidates who submit applications with bogus claims of qualification regarding education, experience etc. and are liable to be disqualified for being considered for a particular post or debarment from applying to the Commission either permanently or for any period or the invalidation of their answer scripts or products in a written/practical test or the initiation of criminal or other proceedings against them or their removal or dismissal from office or the ordering of any other disciplinary action against them if they have already been appointed, or any one or more of the above.
