Kerala PSC Overseer Grade 2 Civil Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Qualification, Age & Details
To apply for the Overseer Grade II (Civil) post, candidates must satisfy the following conditions:
1. Age Limit
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 36 years
- Only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible.
- Relaxation is applicable for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC) as per Kerala PSC rules.
- Maximum age under any concession shall not exceed 50 years.
2. Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications:
Primary Qualification:

3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering recognized by the Government.
Alternate Qualification:

SSLC or equivalent qualification AND one of the following:

Government of Kerala Certificate – Two Year Course in Draftsman Civil

Diploma in Draftsmanship (Civil Trade) – 18 months course including 6 months practical training at ITI/Center under Ministry of Labour, Government of India

3. Equivalent Qualifications
- Kerala PSC recognizes equivalent or higher qualifications approved by Government orders or accepted by the Commission.
- Candidates claiming equivalency must produce the relevant Government Order during certificate verification.

- The number of vacancies for the Overseer Grade II (Civil) post is anticipated and will be confirmed based on requirements across various Universities in Kerala.
- A common ranked list will be prepared by Kerala PSC for all the Universities mentioned under the Kerala Public Service Commission (Additional Functions as respects the Service under the Universities) Act, 2015, including any Universities added later as per law.
- The ranked list will remain valid for a minimum of one year and a maximum of three years, or until a new list is published, whichever occurs first.
- Candidates will be appointed based on their rank in the list and the order in which vacancies are reported by each University.
- A candidate can submit only one application, and once appointed to a University, their turn for other Universities is considered complete.
- If a candidate is relieved due to non-availability of vacancies, they may re-register with Kerala PSC to be considered for future vacancies in other Universities.
- No candidate has the right to claim appointment to any specific University; all appointments are made according to rank and vacancy order.
