KWA Operator Eligibility Criteria 2026 – Age, Qualification & Relaxation

Kerala PSC has clearly defined the eligibility criteria for candidates applying for the KWA Operator post (Category No: 735/2025) in the Kerala Water Authority. Candidates must meet the age, educational, and trade qualification requirements to apply successfully.

1. Method of Appointment

The appointment to the KWA Operator post will be through Direct Recruitment, ensuring fair selection of eligible candidates.

2. Age Limit

• Candidates must be between 18 and 36 years. Only candidates born between 02.01.1989 and 01.01.2007 (both dates included) are eligible.

Age Relaxation:

• OBC, SC, and ST candidates are eligible for the standard age relaxation as per Kerala PSC rules.
• Provisional Hands: Provisional hands working in the concerned organization are eligible for age relaxation up to 5 years beyond the upper age limit, provided they were within the prescribed age at their first appointment. Certificates proving provisional service must be produced when requested by the Commission.
• Note: Regular employees are not eligible for this provisional service concession.

3. Educational Qualification

Candidates must satisfy one of the following qualifications:

1. SSLC or Equivalent: Candidates must have passed SSLC (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) or an equivalent certification.
2. National Trade Certificate (NTC):

• • NTC awarded by the National Council for Vocational Training in the trade of Electrician, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Electrical, or Mechanical, after completing a 2-year course.

  • OR

  • Kerala Government Certificate Examination in Engineering (Electrical) after a 2-year course issued by the Government of Kerala.

4. Equivalent or Higher Qualifications

• Qualifications recognized as equivalent by Executive Orders, Standing Orders of Government, or accepted by the Commission are also valid.
• This includes higher qualifications that presume acquisition of the lower prescribed qualification for the post.
• Copies of Government Orders declaring equivalent or higher qualifications must be produced if requested by Kerala PSC.

KWA Operator 2026 Selection Criteria – Exam, Interview & Evaluation

• Written/Online Examination: Candidates must confirm their participation via the One Time Registration profile. Admit cards can be downloaded only after confirmation. The exam tests technical knowledge, trade skills, and general aptitude.
• Verification of Documents: Original certificates for educational qualifications, trade certificates, age, community, and Aadhaar ID must be presented. Incomplete or mismatched documents may lead to disqualification.

Kerala PSC has announced anticipated vacancies for the KWA Operator post. The Ranked List of selected candidates will remain valid for 1 to 3 years, or until a new list is published. Candidates may be advised for all reported vacancies during this period. 4% of vacancies are reserved for eligible differently-abled candidates as per G.O.(P) No.5/2023/SJD. The Commission can cancel any appointment advice if issued by mistake, and termination must occur within probation or 240 days from joining.
